19.01.2022 Think your tree is either; too big, inaccessible or in a poor spot ??!! ... Don’t write it off as an afterthought, give Carter's Tree Services a call and see what your options are!! A couple of weeks ago, our team completed a large removal job on this Monetrey pine (Pinus radiata). The tree was located in beautiful Daylesford, Victoria, the pine was being removed to facilitate the block being developed. This tree had poor access due to the slope of the block and was only accessible by tracked machinery. Our experienced climbing Arborists, Tim & Sean, removed this tree over the course of a couple of days with aerial rigging being utilised to ensure debris didn’t fall into the neighbouring gully. The tree was approximately 35m high but felt like 80 at the top due to the steep drop off of the south eastern side and the tree being located directly on an embankment. The guys using great team work and communication got it down safely and efficiently. 07.01.2022 What a week !! After all the rainfall we’ve had, its important to make sure you get out and have a look at the ground conditions around your trees. Be safe, take a proactive approach, check for bulging, cracks or any noticeable changes around your root trees systems. Especially, when they are located near high value assets below. We’re expecting more windy and rainy conditions, meaning now is the time to assess your trees and make a call to have an expert look at all or ...any of them where you have any concerns. The pictures below are of a large Monetery Cypress (Hesperocyparis macrocarpa) which failed entirely in windy , wet conditions. These trees can have very shallow root systems in south west Victoria where water is readily available, thus sometimes making them unstable when located in poorly drained wet areas. This tree was located 20m from the house, it fell directly onto the house and was cleaned up straight away by CTS.
