23.01.2022 How to clean your inkjet printhead. During the course of the working day I usually get 3 or 4 telephone calls from distressed printer owners saying My printer has stopped working, I need another one.! or My printer is printing really poorly, I need to replace it! Now these types of statements would strain the average corporate retailers Moral Compass, they would agree and try to sell a new printer. Heavens knows I’m no saint, but I feel obliged to ask, please explain the... printers’ symptoms to me, it may be recoverable. Why do I ask this, because replacing the printer is a very stressful time for the average user and if I can reduce their stress and help them resurrect their printer I would hope I have a customer for life. By far the #1 cause for perceived failure of an ink printer is that the printhead needs cleaning, simple. Cleaning the printhead DOES NOT mean pulling the printer apart or buying some dodgy snake oil off the internet. Look at the control panel of your printer, by using arrow keys or swiping the panel you are looking for either a symbol with a spanner & screwdriver or a symbol looks like a gear cog. Select that symbol and continue exploring that menu looking for Clean Printhead. Select that. NOTE: Sometimes you may need to do the clean 3 or 4 times to get a good result. If your printer does not have a control panel, go to the Internet and type in your model and clean printhead, most times there will be a result. I’m always here to help, just ask! See more

16.01.2022 Beware of cheap printing paper! Cheap paper for you printer is exactly that CHEAP! Leaving aside de-forestation, destruction of animal habitats etc, there are many reasons why cheap paper is not advisable. The 3 main reasons are Abrasiveness, Dust and Print Quality.... Your printer picks up paper from the tray using rollers that are set to exceptionally fine tolerances. Cheap paper is abrasive and will wear out these rollers very quickly, resulting in paper jams and or multiple sheets being picked at the same time. With the cost of labour these days, worn rollers means the printer is not financially repairable. A printer is a very sophisticated electromechanical device that uses many sensors to perform its duty. If the paper you buy is high in dust content then the printer will eventually suffer. Paper that is cut with a guillotine (knife) vs a saw will have a considerably lower dust content. The purpose of a printer is to produce images, both in document form and actual images. What is the point of spending hard earned dollars on ink and toner if the paper is poor quality? Imagine an artist using poor quality canvas, the result will show. Reputable brands of paper are specifically formulated to work with your printer. The manufacturers of the paper spend serious dollars and time in producing a quality product. The cheap paper is formulated to be cheap, simple as that. This is not the place to go into brand names, but all I can say is: Think twice before using cheap paper in your printer, you will be paying a much higher price than you realise. See more
14.01.2022 For many of us, this year has been tougher than most. Lockdowns and social distancing means that we are more isolated, and it might be affecting people more than you realise. Reach out to your loved ones and start the conversation. You don't need to be an expert to reach out - just a good friend and a great listener. Use these four steps and have a conversation that could change a life:... 1. Ask R U OK? 2. Listen 3. Encourage action 4. Check in Tag a friend to spread awareness for this important day! See more
