24.01.2022 Our Year 7-9 students are doing such an amazing job of making the most of all the learning opportunities available to them, despite the current circumstances. We know that making the most of these opportunities will mean these students continue to make progress and achieve success. The College wants to acknowledge students for their efforts in attending all classes, submitting learning tasks and reflecting on their learning each lesson. There will be a competition running between all Year 7-9 form groups from Thursday 10th- Thursday 17th September and points will be awarded daily to each student in these areas, with the class average calculated at the end of the week. Updates will be given regularly so that students know how close it really is! Who will be the victorious form group!?

16.01.2022 At Carwatha College P-12, we believe it is extremely important to empower students to be involved in the decision making about the teaching and learning that happens in their classrooms every day. Our Student Curriculum Teams work is focused on building a school community where teachers and students work together to make our great school even better. The students in this group are not just communicating the ideas and opinions of our students, but they have the power to influ...ence changes in what and how all students learn. This team has already significantly contributed to improvements in the learning outcomes of all students and they demonstrate exceptional pride in their school. We cant wait to see what 2020 brings for this group of students.

14.01.2022 The College Student Curriculum Team have started a poster series called, 'Setting yourself up for success'. Each week the students will release tips around a topic that can help improve student's remote learning experience. This week's topic is focused on 'being a part of the classroom team'. They say that teamwork makes the dream work! When students demonstrate the College values of respect, teamwork and commitment in their online classrooms then we know that excellence is ...more likely to be achieved for each individual student and the class. Well done to all our students who already demonstrate these behaviours every day in every class. For more information about the College Student Curriculum Team and other fantastic student leadership opportunities the College offers, contact the College on 9795 5848.
14.01.2022 Primary Art - Grade 2/3N students learnt how to create a symmetrically balanced drawing of an emu. They used oil pastels to create abstract coloured feathers. Pressing firmly with the oil pastel in the one direction, resulting in vivid colours. Experimenting with layering and blending of colours. Finishing off their work with a liquid watercolour background. Resulting in a very quirky and unique ‘mob’ of emus! Fabulous work 2/3N!

04.01.2022 Carwatha College P-12 Amazing Student Achievement. While we were in lock down, many of us took it upon ourselves to pick up an old hobby or try a new one to pass the time, but Jasmyn of Year 9 took it one step further. Whilst we were engaged in online learning, Jasmyn spent her extra time working tirelessly to create 72 incredible portraits like the ones seen below to raise funds for the National Homelessness collective which is a charity that works to aid in homelessness and... domestic violence. Through her hard work, Jasmyn was able to raise an astounding $935 which she gave to purchase sleeping bags for the homeless. We at Carwatha College P-12 are very proud of Jasmyns achievement and encourage others to follow her example of representing our college values. If anyone would like to also be a part of helping raise any funds for helping people and families get out of crisis situations, please visit https://www.nhcollective.org.au/ The National Homeless Collective Formerly Melbourne Homeless Collective. 04.01.2022 Students have a unique perspective on teaching, learning and schooling, and we believe they should have the opportunity to actively shape their own education. Our students actively contribute to decision making processes about their learning by putting forward their views and ideas - it is their learning after all! This week each teacher is asking their class to answer a series of questions in a survey that we call the Student Voice Survey. The questions are all about the tea...ching and learning happening in their classroom. The results of this survey helps teachers to recognise things that are working well for students, but also highlights things that they can do to make the learning even better. Our Student Curriculum Team created a video to show to every student before completing the surveys. We are so proud that our students and teachers work together to make our school great.
