25.01.2022 Get on this from the legends at Near & Far
24.01.2022 **Festival Special Guest Announcement** We’re incredibly excited to welcome Tired Hands Brewing Company to the participating lineup of Carwyn Collaborational! While all of the partnerships between Australian and international breweries are already locked in, the opportunity to have Jean (owner/brewer) from Tired hands kicking it with us for the festival was impossible to pass up. Like all of the other breweries in the festival, they’ll be supplying 4 limited release beers to ...pour over the 2 sessions on the day. This news, in short, is massive. For those not in the know, Tired Hands is a very highly regarded brewery in Pennsylvania with a very passionate, dedicated fanbase (read: cult following.) The brewery generally brews in two main directions, one hop forward and the other yeast forward. In addition to effectively putting milkshake IPA on the map (theirs is the best there is, trust us), they are indeed well revered among hop gluttons around the globe. Their farmhouse ales have generated as much excitement, using a house yeast culture to ferment their ales as well as some of their more experimental projects (which sound both bonkers and awesome at the same time.) It’s amazing to be hosting such an incredible brewery at the Collaborational! Tickets are selling fastmake sure you get your tickets so that you don’t miss out on the craft beer event of the year! bit.ly/collaborational2020
24.01.2022 As first announced yesterday, the 22 participating breweries and collab partners included in the Collaborational at Home Beer Box are: One Drop (NSW) / Cascade (USA) Deeds(VIC) / Outer Range (USA) Ocho (TAS) / Stillwater (USA)... Edge (VIC) / Beer Here (Denmark) Sailors Grave (VIC) / Arizona Wilderness (USA) Felons (QLD) / Firestone Walker (USA) Otherside (WA) / Garage Project (NZ) Mismatch (SA) / Track(UK) Boatrocker (VIC) / De Molen (Netherlands) Hawkers (VIC) / Bale Breaker(USA) Mr. Banks (VIC) / Interboro(USA) As for the beers themselves, we really think 2020 could use a few more *good* surprises, don’t you? So while we’re not letting you know what exactly is in the box, we can promise you these eleven one-offs are a real showcase of what some of the most exciting craft brewers on the planet are producing. Don’t expect a box full of pale ales and lagers. Instead, expect some truly massive beers and good variety of style - approx. half will be IPAs and the rest a mix of sours/farmhouse and dark beers (ranging in size up to 440 ml). All the collaborations are physically brewed at the Australian partner brewery after careful collaboration and deliberation on the recipes by both parties. **Lastly, please, please note - we do not recommend drinking all 11 beers by yourself on the day of the virtual festival. Either share the beery love with others (if possible), or re-watch the virtual material and take your time getting though the box! See more
22.01.2022 First day of packing down and Collaborational at Home Beer Boxes are finally on their way! Shipping interstate today and tomorrow with Victoria to follow. (Jun needed a boost)
17.01.2022 This is Ewan Brewerton, head brewer and director at Adelaide's Mismatch Brewing. As if he were going to be anything else with a name like that. Ewan's in charge of producing a super fun collaboration with UK's Track Brewing for our Collaborational at Home Beer Boxes. Here's what Ewan had to say about the experience, which includes a sneaky hint at the beer name: "We were super stoked to be teamed up with Track and they were great to work with. It feels like ever and a d...ay that we'll be able to travel again and be able to meet these guys. But when life returns to some sort of normality, we'll be over to the UK to visit." A limited number of Collaborational at Home Beer Boxes are still available at the link in our bio. Courtesy of @mismatchbrewing / Julian Cebo
16.01.2022 This is Edge Brewing Project's founder and head brewer, Adam Betts, hard at work on their contribution to our Collaborational at Home Beer Boxes. And >> THAT >> is also Adam, along with partner Michelle and Beer Here's founder and head brewer Christian Skovdel Anderson. Which is to say they're old pals. It's not long now before we can officially reveal what they've been up to - but hurry! There's less than 300 Collaborational at Home Packs still available at carwyncellars.co...m.au/collaborational Shipping starts at the end of next week.

13.01.2022 Nice day for a beer festival
13.01.2022 It's an exciting time at the warehouse as our beers start to arrive in cold-transit from festival sponsor CraftLink. We're packing and shipping this week, starting with interstate orders. All VIC orders, local deliveries and in-store pickups will commence next week. With thousands of boxes going out, it's a huge endeavour for our warehouse during an exceptionally busy time at AusPost as well, but we really can't wait for you to start unboxing your goods ahead of festival day on October 24! If you haven't ordered yet, the lucky last boxes are up online carwyncellars.com.au/collaborational
13.01.2022 Carwyn Collaborational International Beer Festival postponed to 24 October 2020. Today we’ve had to make a very tough decision regarding the Carwyn Collaborational International Beer Festival. The focus of the festival has always been on collaboration between International and Australian breweries which involves international guests flying into Melbourne. Considering the current global climate and the ongoing spread of COVID-19, we’ve made what we consider the only socially r...esponsible decision and that is to postpone the festival. We have been monitoring the situation closely and as recently as yesterday felt we would be able to proceed, however given increasing uncertainty and the rapidly changing local and international situation, we felt it important to make this decision in the interest of public safety and enjoyment rather than hold off any longer waiting for an official directive regarding public gatherings. The good news is that the festival will still go ahead later this year, and it will be even bigger and better than originally planned! The new date for the Collaborational will be the Saturday October 24th 2020. We’ve contacted all local and international breweries, and we are confident of retaining the same stellar lineup of the original festival, as well as adding a few more big names. Expect more beer, more breweries and more collaborations! For people who have already purchased tickets, please check your email registered to your Eventbrite account to consider your options. We will still be receiving plenty of amazing festival beer so stay tuned for announcements about when we feature certain breweries on the Carwyn taps in the coming weeks. We hope you understand why we have made this decision. Any queries please contact [email protected]
12.01.2022 What are Felons Brewing Co. and Firestone Walker Brewing Co. up to? You'll have to wait and see - but we welcome all of your best guesses below. Swipe for a sneak peek at the beer itself and, if you haven't already, pre-order your Collaborational at Home Beer Boxes at carwyncellars.com.au/collaborational. Reminder: boxes begin shipping the first week in October in time for the virtual festival on Saturday 24th October.
11.01.2022 Boatrocker Brewers & Distillers x Brouwerij de Molen The barrel program at Boatrocker has long been credited as one of Australia's most extensivegenerally housing 300+ barrels at any given time with a very diverse range of contents. Their yearly STARWARD barrel aged Ramjet release has taken home prestigious awards for the brewery year after year, and chances are if you are familiar with Boatrocker, you know Ramjet. You also know that it isn't the only award winning trick up... their sleevetheir chops in the barrel game cover the whole gamut from big, bold beasts to saisons to mixed culture sours. Given their prowess for finessing oak, their collaborating partner is a match made in heaven. Founded 2004, Dutch legends Brouwerij De Molen are very well known for their frequent collaborations and barrel ageing, using a very interesting variety of barrel types to age their beersoften releasing several variations of the same base beer that has been aged in different barrels. Peated whisky, rioja, bordeaux, fortified wine, and a multitude of different bourbon barrels are among the many types frequented by De Molen. Don't be mistaken though, it's not just the barrels that give them their mojo as a brewerythe beers they put in are, generally speaking, nothing short of monstrous. In many cases, given the intensity of the character the chosen barrel type might add to the beer over time, the brew itself needs to bring its own muscle to the party. Beastly brews aside, it isn't all brawnthey aren't adverse to releasing the occasional IPA or gose, delivering a lighter touch. We're absolutely thrilled to have De Molen at the table. They'll be collaborating with Boatrocker while in town for the festival, and that will no doubt wind up in a barrel to rest. While we might not see it for a little while, good things come to those who wait. What barrel aged delight do you hope to see these two breweries release together?

08.01.2022 Hawkers Beer x Bale Breaker Brewing Company Thinking back to when Hawkers hit the market in 2015, it was apparent that there was definitely something big there. Since then, they've been unwaiveringly reliable with their core range beers, though that isn't all they've been up to. Over the years, there have been some incredible vintage release imperial stouts and collaboration brews (many of which have been of the hop defined variety...) and we are really excited to see what t...hey get up to with their partner, Bale Breaker! First off, we're excited to be announcing that Bale Breaker will be coming out for the Carwyn Collaborational! Bale Breaker and Hawkers have been on the same side of the brew deck before, collaborating on an experimental hop IPA along with YCH and Carwyn Collaborational sponsors Cryer Malt called "Tom Needs More Friends". It was coconutty and delicious, FYI. Based in Washington's Yakima Valley, family-owned Bale Breaker quite literally grow hops in the backyard, and it would be safe to say that as brewers, they fit into the category of 'hop wizards.' A look at their core range and limited release beers will tell you that they are specialists of IPAbut then, if the lawn outside the brewery is actually hop vines instead of grass, it only makes sense. Get your tickets to the hop show -> bit.ly/collaborational2020 What would you like to see these two breweries get up to together? Any specific hop varieties you'd want to see them include?
07.01.2022 Mr.Banks Brewing Co x Superflux Brewing Since their open in 2016, Mr Banks has been on the constant rise to the high ranks of Australian craft brewing, particularly carving out their own place within the IPA spectrum. The last couple years have enjoyed some seriously delicious limited release hazy brews from them along with some great kettle sours to boot. We are incredibly excited to announce that Superflux Brewing will be coming out for the festival!... Superflux was Vancouver's first gypsy brewery (though not for much longerthey're set to open their own facility in July this year!) known for their stupidly good IPAs. Having started in 2015 as "Machine Ales" and in 2016 reformed as Superflux, they've been releasing small batch limited runs of beer (by 'beer' we mean 'tasty, juicy, lupulin-filled hop juice') that vanish from the shelves as quickly as it's stocked on them. With an Untappd brewery rating of 4.1, it's no wonder why! It's safe to say that Mr Banks and Superflux should make some pretty magical things happen together. Any specific hop profiles you'd like to see in their collaboration brew? Maybe some Pacific NW delights muled over when they're here for the Collaborational?
05.01.2022 Almost there! Collaborational at Home Beer Boxes go live tomorrow (Wednesday 2 Sept) at 12 pm. Grab yours at carwyncellars.com.au/collaborational
