03.01.2022 Des del Casal Català de Victoria volem expressar el nostre més profund condol per la mort de la Josephine Canals. La Josee va néixer a Melbourne l'any 1924, de pares Catalans immigrants, i var ser membre fundadora del Casal Català de Victoria on va servir al comitè en diverses funcions des de l'any 1986. Amb aquestes paraules volem traslladar les nostres sinceres condolences i tot el nostre suport a la família Canals, i volem agrair públicament la seva tasca en favor de la cultura Catalana.

03.01.2022 Missatge de la Generalitat: Rafel Caballeria Perramon- Servei de la Catalunya Exterior - Secretaria d’Acció Exterior i de la Unió Europea Benvolgudes, Benvolguts,... Com a conseqüència del COVID19 i els efectes que està tenint arreu del món, són molts, centenars, els catalanes i catalanes que s’han vist sense possibilitats de tornar a casa amb normalitat. Des del Departament estem intentant donar-los-hi suport, aconsellar, orientar i fer suggeriments per a la tornada, a l’hora que contactem amb ambaixades i consolats pels casos més problemàtics. En ocasions les solucions no són immediates, i algunes persones es troben sense recursos, o atrapats a aeroports, o a indrets sense possibilitats de pernoctar, per posar alguns exemples. En alguna ocasió ja he contactat amb membres de comunitats catalanes a l’exterior, i amb el vostre ajut hem pogut donar suport a situacions complexes. Veient que cada dia el número de persones que ens contacten augmenta, i que la mobilitat cada vegada està més limitada, *faig una crida a aquelles persones que vulgueu i poguéssiu donar un cop de mà a que m’ho digueu, indicant-me en quina població esteu, per si, donat el cas, us poguéssim contactar per a algun cas concret.* Podeu enviar-me un correu a mi mateix i jo ja coordinaré els vostres oferiments. 03.01.2022 Speaking on behalf of the Catalan Casal of Victoria we would like to express the following considerations, in response to the unfair resolution from the spanish Supreme Court (TS) against the political prisoners and the civic leaders from ANC and Òmnium: We understand that any citizen, or entity, that has ever defended the freedom of speech, and that it is in favour of the right of self-determination (as defined in the prominently embodied in Article I of the Charter of the... United Nations) has to express its upmost abhorrence to today’s judgement. We consider that manipulating the law and use it as a throwing weapon with the aim to resolve a political conflict is ingenuous and achieves precisely the opposite of what it intends. Jail is not the solution because a referendum was not the problem. If the solution of this political conflict must be achieved through a negotiation, we demand that, with immediate effect, all the Catalan political prisoners are set free, without conditions and any limitations, as well as the exiled politicians are able to return home. It is only under these circumstances that any new step in this conflict could be made. Any deviation from this is likely to result in a prolongation and aggravation of the current circumstances. Unfortunately, our hopes for a mediation with a corrupt state are not very high so we encourage to the Catalan people to organise themselves and take the streets as a mean to express their discontent with the current situation.
