23.01.2022 I wanted to thank you for your thoughts and prayers over the past week. My house is filled with flowers, cards, and food! My phone is filled with calls and text messages and my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude. Being on the receiving end of the many blessings is a humbling experience as I am usually on the other side giving to others. To ask for help at home is a lesson I am learning each moment of the day and ‘patience’ is a word that I am hearing a lot of these days and... is on my mind each day! I looked up the definition of patience and it means to accept or tolerate delay or suffering WITHOUT being annoyed or anxious. Wow, I thought about that for a while and it really challenged me. What do I do if I get annoyed with the delay in my recovery or the need to ask for help? If I cannot tolerate the pain and slow progress? If I feel anxious about what the future weeks hold as I begin slowly returning to my normal daily routines? It reminded me to continually pray and talk to God about this and to daily commit my recovery and anxious thoughts to Him. To accept the peace HE gives me in these times and to focus on His promises, love and care He provides each moment. ALSO, to accept the help given to me through the people around me who support me in these times and as always to be thankful and remember the GOOD things each day! A quote which has been helpful this past fortnight is: WORRY is a conversation you have with yourself about things you cannot change. PRAYER is a conversation you have with God about things HE can change. So I will try and pray more and not worry so much and just take one day at a time! Thank you again for ALL for your prayers and support practically to me and my family. I have felt carried during this time on your prayers and am truly thankful and appreciative. I also am thankful to my 3 strong supportive men at home who are constantly caring, offering help and showing their concern for me during this recovery time. I am truly blessed! Jenny de K.

19.01.2022 PRAY FOR EACH OTHER AND SHARE COMMUNITY: Adore God: praise God for who He is, His attributes, His goodness, faithfulness, and grace! Confess our sins: turn from our sin and turn to Jesus and His ways. Ask God to forgive us for our sins daily.... Thank God: + That we’ve had several days of zero COVID-19 infections and that we can enjoy increased freedom! + That Murray and Yvonne B could finally travel to Newcastle to see their daughter Kirsty and La’Mont Jnr and their first grandson Eli for the first time on 23 November! + For those God is healing: o Nicole W who returned home after major ankle surgery. o Tony S who returned home after ear surgery. Supply our needs: For our many students, particularly year 12 and university students as they complete their final exams and for our many teachers who will be marking and writing reports! In keeping with Remembrance Day on Thursday, let’s uphold our military personnel and their families who have lost loved ones over the years. Thank God for peace around the world too. For those who need healing: o Members and friends who are battling cancer (Graeme S, Gerry K, Grace C and others). o Kathy W who is had major back surgery this past Tuesday. o Zara B who is recovering from two broken wrists sustained whilst playing basketball.

16.01.2022 Dear Church Family, one of our church’s biblical vision statements is to Love others. This comes from Jesus’ second greatest command given to us. Reflect on this, I must say we obey this quite well. I say quite well because all of us can always improve in this. On one hand, we are good, however can improve in how we interact with each other: our thoughts, words and actions can grow to be more Christlike; we can love each other more deeply and sincerely from the heart; we ca...n always grow in going up to and speaking to people we have not met and new comers (when we can meet physically) and welcoming them into our family and friendship circles. On the other hand, we are exceptionally good at practically showing our love to each other. When someone is sick, had a newborn baby, unemployed, youth going on mission, a death in the family or if a member is recovering from surgery or struggling to cope, our Care Team and members ‘go the extra mile’ and send cards, texts, emails, drop off gift vouchers, meals, flowers, fresh vegetables and cakes etc. Jenny and I have experienced your love practically as Jenny recovers from major surgery. The following is a note from jenny:

12.01.2022 It is also important to point out that online church services are having a positive impact on the lives of believers. 82% of practicing Christians feel like they are making a meaningful contribution to their church when they attend church digitally. 85% feel connected to their church community. 82% feel cared for by their pastor. And a large majority of these Christians (62%) agree that churches should use digital resources for gathering their people together after the pandem...Continue reading

11.01.2022 URGENT ACTION NEEDED BY CHURCHES RE: CONVERSION THERAPY BAN While we have been distracted with COVID-19 and the easing of restrictions, the Victorian government are tabling new legislation to ban so called 'Conversion therapy practices'. Many are petitioning the government to ban "any practice or treatment that seeks to change, suppress or eliminate an individual's sexual orientation or gender identity." This broad definition would include any prayer offered to a Christian st...ruggling with their sexuality, any Bible based preaching on sexuality and any counselling or pastoral care offered to a same-sex attracted individual that promotes the Biblical picture of sexuality even if the person has specifically asked for such counselling / prayer / teaching. It is likely that the proposed legislation will seek make these common Christian practices a criminal offense. If this proposed legislation goes ahead in its most extreme form, Pastors, Counsellors and Christian School staff will be sent to jail for up to 18 months, for sharing what the Bible teaches on these matters. Clearly this is extremely important for us today, and if this legislation passes, this will form the basis for Christian persecution in our state. But we still have time to act, if we act soon. Our only chance to have the Suppression Practices Prohibition Bill defeated is, under God, to have an extremely large number of people email and call their respective MPs. MPs may or may not be interested in our arguments, but they are always interested in the numbers of constituents in favour of or against a bill. In their minds, each person they hear from represents hundreds of people who share the same view. So we urge you to take action: 1. Pray for God to work in our politicians and that this legislation will be defeated. 2. Write or email or phone your local MP to voice your opposition against this bill May God hear our prayers on this matter, Pastor Michael
