15.01.2022 Hey beautiful people. I'm about to embark on a 100km swim challenge for Laps for Life. This is a fundraiser to help support youth mental health. Over the month of March I have set myself the goal to swim 100km's which I will be doing in a swim spa, rather than a public pool. Why? Because I have lived with anxiety and depression for many years myself, and there is NO WAY in the world I'm about to bare myself to stranger at a public pool! (not to mention I am old and out o...f shape lol!) Swimming is something that helps me cope with my sometimes erratic thoughts and reduces cortisol (the stress hormone). Some people meditate...... I swim :-) Over the past few months I have been taking part in virtual distance challenges, and so far managed to swim The English Channel, the Inca Trail, Mount Fuji, Mount Everest and The Pyramids of Giza. I'm looking forward to this Laps for Life challenge not only to set another challenge for myself, but hopefully raise some money for a very important cause as well. If you can help by donating a few dollars to my fundraising challenge to help prevent youth suicide, I would genuinely be very grateful. Just click on the link below and it will take you to my fundraising page, LOVE A. X

05.01.2022 The Office Chick's Big Day Out. Yep. I followed through with the threat and joined Andy in the Star to head down to Yulara last Friday. Some would say "if you've seen it once you don't need to see it again". I call BS! You never grow tired of this place.

04.01.2022 BIG weekend with my sons helping on a delicate job shifting 17 containers that had been sitting for 10+ years @ a mine site... all the floors had rotted/eaten out with product still inside, we had to shift them from the "test hole" to the "laydown" area about 2 k's without spillage, slow but we achieved ZERO spillage :)

03.01.2022 The big move is coming along ahead of schedule! Moving your entire business is never an easy task and it has been a bit stressful, but we are almost there! Our eldest son has setup his workshop and will be sharing this space with us. And our youngest has recently started his Heavy Diesel Apprenticeship with us as well under the watchful eye of his big brother. Andy and I are so proud of them. We make a great team!! Together, anything can be accomplished ... Our office and administration will be making the big move over this weekend. It won’t be long now....... and on track for new beginnings in our new location at 12 Dalgety Road Braitling as of March 1.

02.01.2022 So today i got lucky...... been visiting this place for 30 odd years and seen most of its personalities..... today finally i got to see it wet.... photos dont do it justice as seeing in person... the water running off the rock is silver and looks like lightning.... and the colors it brings out simply breath taking.... as i was driving away the sun poked through and shone on the northern side briefly certainly worth the wait....

02.01.2022 SUPPORT LOCAL! We've all heard it, more so over these last few months with the impact of COVID-19 having disastrous effects on so many local, small business owners. Of course there are some local business's out there who will encourage you to support them, after all it benefit's their sales, bottom line and keeps local people employed. It makes us feel good to know that our money is staying in our town - or is it? Have you asked yourself;... "Is my local business also supporting other local business?" In some cases the answer is a resounding - NO! Why does this make a difference? Because by supporting other local business - it could be tradesman, suppliers, transport operators, etc... if you support them, their profits stay here too. It creates more jobs. More money dispersed through our community to other business's, to support schools, sporting groups and not-for-profit charity groups. So many people are doing it tough right now, and I for one have been disgusted to see that there are business's increasing prices "because they need it" and taking advantage of those with a bit extra to spend because they have been the fortunate recipients of some Government cash. Worse still, some local business are choosing to send their money to interstate companies and quit supporting their local providers all to save a few dollars, while increasing prices to you. Ultimately, the result is that your money is going elsewhere. And that's just not helping anyone. So, with another COVID-19 milestone approaching here in the Northern Territory with the re-opening of our borders this Friday (except to "hotspots" - Victorian's that means you!!!) ask yourself that question before you spend............ "IS THIS BUSINESS SUPPORTING OTHER LOCAL BUSINESS???" And when the National providers have shut their doors because "Alice Springs is no longer a viable operation", we will still be here....... or, will we? That depends on you! (Photo: Recent sidelifter road train headed to a remote location for the guys and gals at Asbuild NT - thanks for your support!)
