13.01.2022 Very High Fire Danger has been declared tomorrow 16/11/20 so all permits will be suspended from midnight tonight for 24 hours, any fires you have burning will need to be out by that time. If you see any live fire tomorrow without a truck in attendance please call 000.

12.01.2022 The couple of cooler days we are having is a good time to check your bush fire survival plan before the higher bush fire danger levels and heat forecast for the next week arrives. Discuss with your family what you will do and what your triggers are to do it. Prepare your property, clean out the gutters, cut the grass, work out what you are going to do with your live stock and don't forget the pets. The safest option is to LEAVE EARLY. If you intend to stay and defend you need... to be physically and mentally prepared. The smoke will be choking your lungs and stinging your eyes, the heat and the noise will be extreme. Once you get to that stage it is too late to leave. Stay safe and stay cool.

08.01.2022 A few storms creeping about some looking nasty. If you are on the road please drive to the conditions and allow plenty of room to stop. If at home do a quick check of your gutters, to see if they are clear, and a look around the yard to see if there is anything which could be blown around in the wind. If you get one in your area stay indoors, bringing pets in as well, stay away from windows and stay safe. Remember if you need emergency assistance in storms ring the SES on 132 500. For life threatening emergencies ring 000.

08.01.2022 We responded to a caravan fire this afternoon and as the holiday season starts it comes as a timely reminder. When cooking over the festive season please remember things can go very wrong very quickly. So please remember to check your fire blankets and fire extinguishers are in good working order and that you never pour water or flour onto a fat fire. The owner of the caravan was a quick thinker and turned the oven off and got out and closed the caravan up, helping to control the spread of the fire.

05.01.2022 Casino 1 and 7 attended a Bush fire to assist Casino East with Ellangowan and Tomki also in attendance. Blowers were used to cut a line through the bush to stop the spread of the fire before the fire got any larger. All the crews worked well and successfully stopped the fire. Land owners are reminded to keep an eye on your property with extreme temperatures predicted over the weekend.
