24.01.2022 Good news for Scouts!

23.01.2022 Today is International Day of Happiness. And given the current situation, what better time to try to create some happiness in our world!

23.01.2022 Today we celebrate Founders Day! In the busyness of the start of the school and Scouting year, it's important to take a moment and reflect on our roots. Lord Ro...bert Baden-Powell opened the door for Scouts around the world to impact millions of young people, as well as their communities. Like our Youth Members, Baden-Powell fulfilled his potential, writing over 30 books about his travels and Scouting. Like our Adult Members, he freely gave his time and energy to the betterment of the Scouting program and the young people it empowers. His legacy lives on through each and every one of us and our participation in Scouting. #Scouts #FoundersDay #ScoutsNSW

20.01.2022 The summer holidays have officially kicked off! Scouting@Home for the Holidays is designed to keep our youth members Scouting over the next six weeks, with wee...kly challenges to explore our Youth Program Challenge Areas, as well as a Special Holiday Challenge to get stuck into! Week 1 Challenges are now up on our website, encouraging youth to learn all about the power of advertising, try and spot the Christmas star in a starry scavenger hunt, explore different holiday traditions, create their own terracotta pot decorations and reflect on the 2020 year. 20.01.2022 Lamington orders and payment due by 25 March for delivery on 2 April. Please comment below if you would like to order a dozen or two.

19.01.2022 HELP NEEDED!! As we head into 2020, we find that a couple of our volunteer leaders are leaving Scouts to spend more time with their families and take on new adventures. This leaves us with quite a few roles that need filling in order for us to continue to effectively run scouts in Casino. ... Please have a think if you, or someone else you know, may be interested in volunteering in any of the below roles. Previous Scouting experience not necessary. * Assistant Scout Leader * Scout Leader * Assistant Joey Scout Leader * Assistant Cub Scout Leader If you would like more information about any of these roles or Scouts in general please contact our Group Leader, Karen Rea, on 0466 324 690.

18.01.2022 The results of the Scouts Australia Resilience Survey are in, and it’s official young people who participate in Scouts have an overall better life satisfactio...n than their peers, and the longer they stay in Scouts the more resilient they are likely to become. This is exciting news for our Scouting community across the country, as it reaffirms what we’ve known for over 113 years Scouting and resilience go hand in hand! We are so pleased to share with you the results of Resilient Youth Australia’s survey into the impact of Scouting on the resilience of young Australians. Check out the key findings from the Resilience Survey https://bit.ly/scoutingeffect

18.01.2022 Great to catch up with Kevin Hogan and as always we are very appreciative of the support and funding. #volunteer #leadersneeded

17.01.2022 Last night Casino Joeys and Cubs enjoyed a fun, flight-themed night planned and led by three of our Cub Scouts. Everyone enjoyed the obstacle course, making and playing with CD hovercrafts and experimenting with floating ping pong balls. #2ndcasinoscoutgroup #casinocubs #casinojoeys #scoutsinactionmonth #flight #youthled

16.01.2022 Just a reminder to all parents, the next round of active kids vouchers are now available.

16.01.2022 Today members from all sections of 2nd Casino Scout Group showed their commitment to the Scout Promise, their community and environment by participating in Clean Up Australia Day. #stepuptocleanup #scoutsNSW

16.01.2022 Scouts is a safe place to make friends and contribute to the world around us. This week on Children's Week, we celebrate our youth members, their achievements ...and their right to safely participate in programs like Scouts. Our youth members are at the core of everything we do, and we're committed to creating an environment where all children and young people feel safe, supported and protected. We have developed videos for our youth members and adult members to highlight this commitment. The videos also outline the responsibility we all share in keeping our young people safe so they can develop the skills to take on all that life has to offer. To view and download these videos, visit our website here: https://www.nsw.scouts.com.au/youthpro/knowit-liveit-logit/

14.01.2022 Glad we could finally make it to the local park for our ride, scoot, skate adventure. The Cubs planned this activity last year and we had to postpone it 3 times due to weather and smoke from fires.

12.01.2022 Thank you Richmond Valley Council for your very generous support through the Community Financial Assistance Program. The funding to purchase new PFDs for water activities and camping equipment is very much appreciated and will be put to good use once we resume outdoor activities.

11.01.2022 Huge thank you to Casino RSM Club for our new bright red canoes. We can’t wait to test them out! #clubgrants #canoeing #casinoscoutgroup #outdooradventures #casinorsm

10.01.2022 Fabulous evening of fishing organised by one of our Cubs . After a quick game to burn off energy, Casino Cubs settled down for some serious fishing - catching eels, dog fish, bream, flathead and a few snags. Koala even managed to catch a branch!

10.01.2022 Limited outdoor activities are starting to be allowed to recommence at all NSW Scout groups. As a show of support and to help ensure the health and safety of all our scouting members, Bunnings Lismore are donating a box of hand sanitiser to us at 2nd Casino Scout Group! Thankyou Bunnings!

08.01.2022 From our Youth Program, through to the training we provide each Leader and adult who chooses to become part of the Scouting community, we want to give our young... people a safe, inclusive space where they can thrive and be comfortable just being themselves. Building a strong youth safe culture is a team effort and we all have a role to play. If we see, hear or are told about something that isn’t in line with our Promise and Law (or our Code of Conduct for adults), we should LOG it even when in doubt. It doesn’t matter how big or small the issue is. We can LOG it by: 1. Using the online youth protection form at www.nsw.scouts.com.au/youthprotection/log-it/ 2. Calling our Youth Protection Team on 02 9735 9000 3. Emailing our Youth Protection Team at [email protected] KNOW IT. LIVE IT. LOG IT. SAFE FUN FOR ALL. 06.01.2022 Thanks to Kyogle Venturers for teaching us about Venturers. Most fun we’ve had with square lashings and great to hang out and make friends with the Kyogle Scouts.

05.01.2022 Tonight our Joey and Cub units visited the Community Gardens. Before planting carrot, spinach and leek to share with the community, members of both sections learnt the importance of preparation and team work.

03.01.2022 Scouts isn’t somewhere young people go or something they doit’s who they are day in, day out. Today, we are so excited to be launching Scouti...ng@Home - an online portal which brings the exploration, fun and learning of Scouts to your home, at a time where face-to-face Scouting isn't possible. Scouting@Home includes weekly challenges , an Activity Pack and other fun, self-guided activities to keep our young people connected to Scouting. Fresh content will be uploaded weekly, and if you have ideas or activities perfect for Scouting@Home, share them with us and we'll add them in!
