21.01.2022 Are you getting this wrong with a capital W? You're sitting at your laptop, optimistically firing up your word document, ready to blast through your DIY copywriting so you can swim in a gold plated blow-up pool of hundred dollar bills. Until you realise all you've done is watch the cursor blink and the time tick over.... Yeah, I see you. Been there. Done that. The good news - there's probably a perfect explanation for this pickle you're in: You didn't research. You didn't plan. You didn't stalk your competitors or froth over your inspos. You didn't pick your word poison. And you've got no idea what your a tone of voice is. Back it up. You've jumped the gun. Whip out your fluffy pen and notepad and brainstorm like your bank account depends on it. Research takes the cake. (And the pie according to this very scientific diagram).

07.01.2022 COPY CRUSH Good copy is my love language. Spicy margs are up there too.... @rubistkilda has both. We're a rubi in the rough. Rubi is a new kind of bar and eatery, the place you go to eat, drink and chill without a bother. From local produce, open views and a rotating cocktail menu, we're a cut above the rest. Oh and their insta feed makes me wanna jump through the screen. A real gem. @ St Kilda, Victoria

07.01.2022 Truth hurts. Not sorry. So often I speak to biz owners that expect people to invest in their businesses and buy/hire them, but they haven’t even invested in it themselves. Like ever. Doesn’t make much sense does it? ... I get it, especially when starting out, there isn’t always an excess of cash to spend. But you’ve got to take risks sooner or later if you want your business to grow. Otherwise you're going to be cruising down the same highway for a long time. It’s a little bit of a chicken and egg situation what came first? If you’re not prepared to put your money where your mouth is and believe in your business, don’t be surprised when the clients or customers are no where to be found. *crickets* I’m not telling you to avoid being resourceful or not to do things yourself. I’m just saying, if you’re not investing in YOU in whatever capacity you can, you’re putting a certain energetic signal out. For me personally, things didn't go up a gear in my business until I started putting skin in the game. Ask yourself: what kind of message are you sending to the business-gods? A) that you're too scared to bet on yourself and invest in your own business? Or B) that you believe in yourself, and you know that you’ll receive a return on your investments. Choose carefully.
