20.01.2022 More and more I am hearing people are refusing to do their standard hours let alone additional hours of work, dictating hours to their employers and or leaving their employment particularly now with the job keeper and job seeker available. People do not leave bad companies they leave bad bosses/managers/team leaders. Maybe now is the time to do some housekeeping in your business!... The problem - 17 unmistakable qualities of a bad bosses/manager/team leader: 1. They tend to take credit for other people’s work and not give credit where credit is due. 2. Rarely shows appreciation or gives recognition to employees 3. Manages with fear, not fairness 4. Tends to micromanage 5. Creates a toxic environment by gossiping and talking down to team members 6. Alternatively, can be complacent about poor performing or toxic team members 7. Is unavailable or avoids tough conversations (avoids confrontation) 8. Is incapable of trusting employees with projects (control freak) 9. Plays favorites' 10. Does not provide transparent instructions or clear direction. 11. Is a poor listener 12. Does not lead by example 13. Lacks humility or self-awareness 14. Does not follow up job tasks 15. Poor time management skills 16. Does not recognize their own work responsibilities, allocates their work to other team members and/or overloading team members (There is no ‘I’, in team) 17. Feedback is based around fixing people, rather than building on people’s strengths.
