20.01.2022 And I'm back in the studio today from nearly a week long hiatus. I think it's the first whole week I've taken off since our little guy was born, almost 2 years ago!! (eeekkk, that's so bad) BUT as #mumlife would have it, our little Eddie came down with a temp over the weekend, so I've pretty much had him glued to me the last 3 days But seriously, it was a mini break that myself, my family and my business sooo desperately needed after really starting to feel the effects of work+mum life burnout So I'm treating this new financial year as a fresh new year for me and my biz! I'm going to be leaving behind some of my current design services and making room for some exciting new ideas to keep things fresh and inspiring for me and my clients! 19.01.2022 Introducing my new 'INTRODUCTION TO WATERCOLOUR' class. I have completely paired back my botanical watercolour class to offer a more basic, introductory class where we spend 2 and a half hours just playing & experimenting with this beautiful medium. I wanted to create a class for anyone who just wants to pick up a paint brush, and have a play with watercolour, full stop. After chatting with so many of you, it seems like sometime after high school art class (or even primary sc...hool) we just pushed our creativity to the side, and pursued a 'real job'. I sure know that was me until about 4 years ago when I started painting again, which literally changed my life! Come along, bring your girlfriends, have some bubbly, some laughs, meet more beautiful people, and let those creative juices flow!! I've been so aware of the time spent on my phone lately, and to be honest, in the last few months I've had my head down looking at my screen way more than I probably should. So this past week I've pretty much been on an insta hiatus. It's been SO refreshing. I've been so present. I've felt calm, confident, and not in constant comparison mode. 14.01.2022 I remember painting these leaves. I just had the need to paint these soft, organic blue/grey leaves, for no apparent reason, just coz. I knew that they were special and so I wanted someone to use this design for something that made their customers feel special too. 13.01.2022 FINDING YOUR STYLE I haven't always known what my style was. It's taken a while to stop being so influenced by trends and look inside myself as to what feels true to ME. . Everyone, yes even YOU have your own unique style. I think the key is being confident in who you are, where you come from, what has influenced and inspired you, what has affected and shaped you. There are so many on-trend styles out there at the moment, and always will be a flavour of the year, but what s...et's all that apart is YOU and your uniqueness. . A few tips on finding YOUR style: 1. Go back to your 10year old self. What did you love doing for FUN? What came so naturally to you? Where did you grow up? Can this influence your work, who you are, and how you show up in your design style? 2. Create a mooboard of all the things that make you happy and that FEEL like YOU. When you stand back, is there a common theme? 3. If you had a day to draw, paint or design, with NO brief, what would you do? 4. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? This can really say alot about someones design style. . I hope that helps. And if you haven't found your style yet, that's ok. Keep digging. Keep saying yes to new projects. The more you experiment the more you'll feel into what truly feels like you. xx See more

03.01.2022 This mindset shift pretty much changed the game for me Juggling Baby and Biz (or anything really) is ALL about your perspective and how you CHOOSE to look at each situation. Instead of "I’m so bloody tired & I have to work today" I say, "I GET to go to work today, and I'm so lucky I get to do what I love". Instead of "I have to get up each night to feed my baby" I'd say "I GET to wake up with my bub, because I love him so much and I wouldn't want anyone else in the world to do it . It's such a small change, with big impact. I hope these words can shift your perspective and change your story if you're juggling mum-life with your precious bub or bubbas . #cassdellerdesign #quote
