25.01.2022 Something fun to do tonight as a family! I went last night and it was wonderful! Kids were so happy to have there own headphones and had a dance when the credits rolled ! So fun!

21.01.2022 Science with cornstarch packing peanuts: Make science an Everyday Conversation! When you open your package and find a surprisingly large number of these packin...g peanuts, DON’T throw them out, they are AWESOME fun!! They breakdown in water, releasing loads of little pockets of air that make 100s of little gas bubbles. We put some food colouring in some water in a jug. Armed with a potato masher, a bowl of packing peanuts and an empty bowl, you’ve got at least 15min of science fun ahead. Pour in a bit of coloured water and add a handful of peanuts and mash. Mash. Mash. You’ll end up with a gooey mixture (you could do a couple of different coloured liquids to make a few different coloured good). Watch as the air is squashed out of the peanuts as you mash creating loads of bubbles. The air pockets in the packing peanuts are what makes them useful in protecting your package, they can compress under pressure but bounce back. You could talk about liquids, solids and gasses here. You could talk about forces when you mash, you could talk about mixtures and solutions or you could even talk about biodegradability and decomposition. Endless possibilities. We often get out spoons, funnels and other little containers and utensils and let the kids go crazy. When we’re finished, the whole lot gets tipped in the garden (or compost) where it happily decomposes You too can Science every single day!

17.01.2022 Been a little more quiet on this page than usual. Don’t worry it’s for a good reason I’ve been growing a little human of my own. Very excited that there will be an addition to the family coming September.
