25.01.2022 Another tricolour

23.01.2022 Tricolour chocolate this time

21.01.2022 I have some blue silk males if anyone wants a new addition. Decided to stick with standard coat males for this breeding project.

20.01.2022 I have some females available. Some are babies between 6-8 weeks and I have a handful of older ex breeders between 10-12 months (velours and one or two silk velours) who are lovely and gentle, possibly still could have one more litter if any breeders wanted them. Varying quality of velour coats. Pick up from Ourimbah NSW

10.01.2022 My crazy cute and weird new friend I was lucky enough to be entrusted with by my good friend Peter. She is from standard coated feeder stock, has straight whiskers, but is nudie! I decided to call her Jalapeno, she is kinda chilli

07.01.2022 Lovely little guys I bred are in need of a new home as their owner is moving overseas. More information in their link! Spread the word - :)

06.01.2022 DWS V Pails baby - love the variegated blaze line

05.01.2022 These two guys had me scratching my head yesterday after cleaning one of their group enclosure out, only to move on to the next enclosure to see the same rat I just cleaned! turns out I have two almost identical breeding boys in my rattery - I must have really liked the markings 3 or so months ago. One is silk one is standard coat. Name suggestions welcome!

04.01.2022 Down under Berkshire

04.01.2022 Agouti tricolour with a fawn stripe trailing her headspot

04.01.2022 Some great updates to our expending rat shed (with lots of thanks of the best landlords a crazy rat lady can ask for) include: a new shed floor, roof, roof insulation, doors, water tank and guttering so they get their own fresh rainwater! The rat shed stays cooler than my own home when those scorching days hit. You can tell the rats are the favourites! To come is an exclusively automated waterline on a cistern so no more filling water vessels while I am huge, and me to get o...ff my butt and build some new enclosures/repair the old ones. I will also be sectioning off little zone in the shed for or mouse colony, and adding some climbing lattice around the shed for some vines to naturally offset the afternoon sun, making the shed more thermally sound down to the daily fluctuation in temperatures and happier rats overall! I have also added a couple of new varieties of rodent to the colonies! (well some we had years ago but gave up for various reasons) We now have patchworks and rex rats as well as patchwork and hairless mice! So some really ugghhhh interesting little ones to enjoy in the past couple of months. And all our other lines are still going. I will get some updated progress shots across the generations, and go through each one over the next two weeks :)

03.01.2022 Hey wonderful rat friends! Thought I posted this a while back but it must have been one of oh so many times I wrote a message out and got distracted before hitting send/publish. I am nolonger selling live rats. I have ridden the highs and lows of the pet rat community for over 10 years now and think it is a good time to exit. With my growing human family, many cats, and reptile food buisness I just nolonger have the time to be helping people get their fancy pets. I really a...ppreciate everyone's support over the years and I am sorry to those who have been messaging lately for the slack replies or unanswered inquiries. There are plenty of breeders out there who can hopefully help you find what you are after :) I might keep this page up a little longer if I feel the urge to post about projects or even for my own nostalgia. I also still have a few frozen customers who use this page to contact me. Feel free to message me on Cass Rats - Frozen Reptile Food, or shoot me a personal message to Cassandra Norman for any feed inquiries. I will be sporadically active on a couple of the facebook groups for Australian rats under my personal account. Rodent Breeders Australia I think the one is called that I most often go on with anomalies I find in my colony. Anyway happy ratting everyone :D

01.01.2022 I have found a about 6 of these in my feeder grow outs over the past 2 weeks. All about the same age, possibly same litter or father. At first I thought the mum must have overgroomed their toes and I hadn't noticed early on. But now I am noticing tiny nails on their nubs of fingers. Then today I found this guy! All feet affect and a weird stumpy tail By no means a mutation you would want. He is a goblin. Can't even clean himself effectively with those hands which would be ...frustrating for a rat. Anyway I just thought it may be interesting to others as it was to me today.
