24.01.2022 17th May DIPG Awareness Day In January 2018 our family were affected by a disease that we did not know would change our lives forever. Kyron fought DIPG for ...27 months and sadly lost his battle on 13th April 2020. A diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is a brain tumour. Located in the pons (middle) of the brain stem. Up to 20 children are diagnosed each year in Australia. Median age of patients is approximately 6-7 years old. Less than one per cent survival rate. Median survival range is from 8-11 months. None of them survive more than 5 years. Short history of symptoms, experience rapid tumour progression. Children are locked out of their bodies. Fully conscious but unable to move, speak, eat or even smile. They all die after tremendous suffering. This is one of the most deadliest cancers which currently has no recognised treatment. There is No Cure! The Cure Starts With You Please Share, Raise Awareness & Donate to organisations researching a cure for DIPG.
