04.01.2022 LOCAL TIP-OFF HELPS CASTERTON CALMLY DEAL WITH BORDER-CROSSING SHOPPERS Yesterday afternoon news broke that new cases of COVID-19 in Adelaide may result in bord...er restrictions for South Australians. Soon after, Casterton FoodWorks received a tip-off from a local who works in South Australia that they should expect an influx of shoppers from across the border. The information allowed the local store to hastily prepare. "We were able to put limits in place so we weren't wiped out," a store representative says. "Taking all that into consideration, we weren't affected too badly, as it only lasted a couple of hours." The Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has now announced a hard border will be in place for 48 hours before a permit system comes in place on Saturday evening. Victoria will close its border to South Australia for 48 hours from midnight tonight. And yes, amazingly you can still find plenty of toilet paper in the aisles of Casterton FoodWorks.
