25.01.2022 Our CWA Book Club turns 1 today. Thank you Faye for our delicious celebration morning tea and lunch. It was so special to catch up with the ladies. And Yes we did find time to discuss the books.

25.01.2022 Castle Hill branch are in their 4th week of making Face Masks for the local community. It is so good to meet the locals and make a difference. Masks are $5 each and come in kids, youth, teens, ladies and mens sizes in a range of colours or plain. Many of our orders are now done on the fabric that the clients bring in. We also hav ear savers in crochet or fabric. Delivery days are Tues and Fri weekly between 10-4pm at our CWA Cottage, 2 Annangrove Road, Kenthurst.

25.01.2022 Our Cottage will be open this Saturday between 10am-12.00 for those who have placed orders and have been unable to collect during the week. We will also have some face masks for sale for those who wish to just call in but that is limited to this 2 hour time frame only.

24.01.2022 Cooking Lesson at CWA Castle Hill Icing Christmas Cakes. We were lucky today to learn all the variations of icing cakes from both our Cooking Officer Lynn to our member Elaine, who had taught cake decorating for many years. Thank you ladies, very enjoyable morning.

19.01.2022 Here is our branchs contribution to the brand new Richmond River Independent: a Country Womens Association (CWA) of NSW recipe for delicious Honey Jumbles, an...d an introduction to our branch and some history of the Association. Next week youll hear from CWA Tabulam Branch, along with a recipe supplied by them. Other branches in our region will be sharing their recipes and share stories of their branch. The CWA is Australias largest womens lobbying group. We are grass roots and each branch is different, because no two communities are quite the same. But we all are working to improve the lives of women and families in rural and regional Australia, within our own communities and all the way to parliament.

Next planting to come another 1,500 trees. Big thank you to Rossco and his team from East Coast Bush Regen, our wonderful volunteers from Bangalow Koalas, Pat and his friends and The Byron Bay General Store for serving up a treat. 13.01.2022 CWA Castle Hill branch turned 74 years on 8th October. Each year on our birthday we celebrate by delivering a baby basket to the first baby born at Norwest Private Hospital on 8th October. The baby basket is filled with handmade craft as well as baby items purchased by our members. Congratulations to Amanda & Matt Taylor on the birth of their first child, a beautiful baby girl on 8th October at Norwest Private Hospital. Parents and staff thought it was a beautiful way to share our birthday.

13.01.2022 Our CWA Castle Hill member Indu will take 16 bags made by our CWA Handicraft ladies to her Tamil Group. The Tamil ladies will fill the bags with a towel, underwear, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Then deliver them to WashHouse, Blacktown (which is a drop-in centre for women).

The CWA Cottage will be set up with tables inside running from one door across to the other door, so that COVID rules can be applied.... Come along and browse at our lovely craft and cooking on sale. Jams and pickles, cakes and slices to take home. Face masks, aprons, tea cosies, crochet hand towels, face washers, doll’s clothes, cushions, beautiful bunting to decorate kid’s rooms or that backdrop to a party and much more.....

12.01.2022 Our ‘Apron Competition’ was very hard to judge today as they were all so well made and great ideas, Mother & Daughter aprons, kids aprons, half aprons and Christmas aprons. Angela was the winner with her floral mother & daughter aprons and Kerry, who is mastering the sewing machine, won the achievement award. Great effort ladies, so impressive. All aprons will be for sale on Market Day 11th October.
