08.01.2022 Osteoporosis is a silent and very debilitating disease. If you want to age in good health and vitality, then you have to take active steps to guard against it. The 20th of October 2020 was World Osteoporosis Day. It marks a year-long campaign dedicated to raising global awareness of the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of osteoporosis. You can test for osteoporosis to ensure early detection by asking your doctor for a DEXA scan. At Castle Hill Diagnostics, this low dose x-ray scan is avaliable and usually takes 5 minutes.

The higher the density, generally, the lower the risk of fracture. The scan is also one of the most reliable techniques to determine the body composition of a person, including the amount and distribution of fat and lean tissue. No bookings are required, just come into our practice and one of our radiographers will conduct the examination....
