08.01.2022 Dear Members, It is with great sadness that I inform you of the tragic loss of our Premier League player, Luke Gardoni. Taken too soon, this is a sobering reminder of how fleeting life can be. Please see the statement below. With respect to the Gardoni family and in memory of Luke’s love of life and football, we ask that senior teams across our club observe a one minute silence prior to game kick-off, and we encourage all club members to symbolise this tragedy by wearing a b...lack armband during this weeks round. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gardoni family at this most difficult time. Marc Vujnovich President ---- Vale Luke Gardoni On Saturday 15th August, while representing the CHUFC Premier League, Luke suffered a devastating cardiac arrest. Luke was treated on-field by no less than 6 paramedics, supported by NSW Police. The efforts of those who assisted on scene was outstanding and will be forever admired. After a long-fought battle in hospital, on Thursday 20th August, Luke passed away surrounded by his adoring family. Luke was 21 years old. Luke's football career started in 2004 at Castle Hill United, where he continued to play until 2009. In 2020, he returned to CHUFC to play with some of his long-time football mates. Quietly spoken, with a reserved nature, Luke was quick to ignite friendships, and very quickly became a highly valued member of the squad. We will be forever honoured that we played a part in his football career, at the very start, and at the very end. Our thoughts and condolences are with Luke's parents Andrew and Michelle, sister Alicia and brother Aaron.

03.01.2022 Thank you from the Gardoni Family.... To The Castle Hill United Football Club, We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the CHU Football Club for your wonderful support, generosity, and kind messages on the tragic loss of our son Luke.... A big thank you to Luke’s Team and Coaches Bruce Baker, Steve Berry, Johnno Langan, Manager Cath Baker, Neil and Natalie Wares, Mick and Debbie Pawelko, and all those who have provided their love, time and support. We truly appreciate the Club hosting Luke’s wake and all the assistance received with the set up and organization of this event. The guard of honour was very moving. We were extremely humbled by the minute’s silence that was observed prior to each game in the next round, in memory of our precious Luke. The beautiful plaque and wording are a true tribute to Luke and we deeply thank the Club for arranging this memorial. We would appreciate if the attached thank you card could be distributed to all members of the Club. We have shared Luke’s story with the EndUCD.org Foundation, set up to try and find answers for Unexplained Cardiac Death. There is a link on the attached card which will take you straight to the story on the Foundation’s website with the option to donate in honour of Luke if people wish to do so. Many thanks, Andrew, Michelle, Alicia and Aaron Gardoni https://www.enducd.org/luke-gardoni
