14.01.2022 With the weather being hot this weekend. We have a few guidelines to keep your pets safe. Provide your pet with adequate shade and cool water, better yet bring them inside Exercise them early morning. If the ground is too hot for you to walk on it’s too hot for them Never leave them in the car ... Please help our wildlife by supplying water for them Brachycephalic or squishy faced pets are more susceptible to heat stroke If your pets is excessively panting, drooling, their gums and tongue aren’t pink, lethargic or sudden collapse. Bring them to the vet immediately . Heat stroke is a medical emergency

11.01.2022 #Repost @wireswildliferescue with @get_repost Many calls to WIRES during spring are to report birds on the ground that may not always need assistance. These young birds are leaving the nest but are still dependent upon parental care and feeding are called fledglings. People often want to help fledglings, as they appear vulnerable, but it is best to leave them alone and observe unless they are injured or sick.... . . . #wireswildliferescue #australialianwildlife #australiananimals #savingwildlives #springinsydney #wildlifeconservation #australianspring #howtosavewildlife #protectwildlife #protectaustralianwildlife #fledgling See more

09.01.2022 Today we had to say goodbye to our beautiful clinic cat Licorice Just shy of 17 years of age she was one of our longest serving staff members. She was a regular blood donor and saved many lives before she hit retirement age. You may have seen Licky popping her head around the corner to reception to try and rip open a bag of food to snack on. Or sunning herself on the pavers. She was a dear old lady that loved a cuddle and a little bit of your lunch. Everyone will miss you baby girl

07.01.2022 Both Max and Herman know due to government regulations that masks are now mandatory within the hospital (but only for humans) . We also have our QR code set up outside the hospital and request everyone to scan it via their smartphone and to show a staff member that you have checked in . Just as a reminder if you are feeling unwell we request you call to reschedule your appointment . Thank you for your assistance .

06.01.2022 Meet Meshki She’s a very sweet but shy domestic shorthair cat and is currently looking for her furever home. She’s black and white and has beautiful vibrant green eyes She is approximately 7 months old and has been desexed and vaccinated. Meshki had a bit of a rough start in life and is a little bit timid but does warm up to you once she’s comfortable in her surroundings. She loves a good chin scratch but doesn’t enjoy being picked up. Ideally her forever home would be ...a bit quieter, with someone willing to give her a lot of time and love as an only pet . #castlehillvets See more

03.01.2022 Thank you for all your support and kindness this year to new and old clients and patients . It has been topsy-turvy year . We started off the year with a large donation of money and items for our bushfire victims . Then COVID struck, we had to lock our front door, minimise people within the clinic and handed out many face masks . We had to split into 2 teams to ensure we could stay open to the public which was not only physically but also mentally taxing with each and ev...ery team member giving it their all and working extremely long hours, and with the large influx of puppies and kittens to new homes it doubled the workload on lesser staff . We managed to return to the new norm with restrictions . We said goodbye to not only our beautiful Licorice but many of our regular patients which is never easy, but we are always so grateful to having known and been able to cuddle them . We end the year with a little uncertainty Although 2020 has been different we would love if you can share some positivity that you experienced with your furry friends during the year #happynewyear #castlehillvets See more
