24.01.2022 A final tip for remote learning from home. If you're struggling with feelings of guilt and a sense that you're falling short, take a moment to think about what beliefs might be fuelling your guilt. Are your expectations too high? Is it judgement (perceived or real) from others that is getting to you? Sarah Napthali asks the question of her readers in her book Buddhism for Mothers, "are you making unrealistic demands on life or are you accepting the inevitable imperfections?" It might be helpful to reflect on this question during these times.

11.01.2022 More mask-wearing tips from CHIRP Community Health's Community Nurse, Bronwyn. By now, you're probably all aware that the blue side of surgical masks should be worn facing out. Did you know that this is because the blue side is water repellent? Once that becomes moist the water repellent membrane is no longer water repellent. After wearing your mask, consider the mask dirty and drop it straight in the bin. Sanitise your hands before and after handling your mask. Do not touc...h the outside of the mask, try to only touch the elastic bands. If you do, remember to sanitise again! Reusable masks should be placed in the wash immediately after use.

06.01.2022 CHIRP Community Health's Children's Counsellor, Helen, recommends a beautiful new book 'The Heart of the Bubble' written by local author and illustrator Trace Balla. Helen believes this book is very timely as the pandemic has brought so many changes to our community, and it can be a particularly tough for families juggling remote learning, financial insecurity and social isolation. Trace's book is an invitation to connect with what really matters in our lives. It's also a... gentle reminder to reach out to others - for connection and to ask for help. #traceballa #heartofabubble http://traceballa.yolasite.com/heart-of-the-bubble.php
