24.01.2022 Hi Wonderful women, Our Autumn period Party for girls is coming up this weekend. We will be basket weaving, out at Fryers forest community space. Girls 13-15 are so welcome to join us for a creative afternoon, and weave a basket from locally found grasses and fibres.... We'll share conversations and delicious food while we create our baskets. We'll explore the season of Autumn, and how the autumn time of the menstrual cycle feels. Materials will be provided, Bring any beads, shells, feather, wool or fibres you might like to add into you creation! 15.01.2022 Wonderful women, Castlemaine Red Tent will be on this Friday 24th May. 6.30pm-till 9pm. ... You are invited to gather together with women of this community to connect to the earth, by the fire, under the open sky and speak the stories of our hearts. I wish to set the intention for this circle for connecting women of this community, and to explore the topic of "creating a supportive sisterhood" We will journey together with this topic, listening with compassion and the ears of our heart to the stories offered. This will be followed by a shamanic drum journey, to connect with our inner guidance for moving forward and into connected, collaborative & supportive sisterhood. Please join us for a nourishing circle by the fire in, Guildford. Address will be given when you RSVP to Rachel 0430 450 967 Chai will be available. Bring a cushion, blanket, warm clothes, a cup (and thermos with warm water should you like it) and something nourishing to share for supper. This circle does not cost anything to attend. 12.01.2022 WHAT HAPPENS AT THE RED TENT? Red Tents traditionally occurred on or near the New moon (Dark moon). It was a place for women and girls to rest, reflect and be supported by other women, (historically this was also when women menstrual cycle synced with the moon). The Castlemaine Red tent, now in its fourth year, provides a safe, welcoming, relaxed space for women to come together and share in circle.... We meet once a month, on or near to the dark moon. Whether you have your period, a menstrual cycle, or a womb, or not, the space is open to all women to gather and share. Women of all ages, backgrounds, and life situations are welcomed and valued at the Red Tent. There is no hierarchy, or teacher. The space is held, by one or two women. You will be guided with a mediation, to connect with the earth and sky, the directions and each other, and become more present with yourself and in the space before circle begins. Together we will co- create a safe container for sharing, with agreements we are all comfortable with before we begin. Each person takes a turns to share in circle, while the others listen. (and you don't have to speak if you don't want to) There will be questions to prompt sharing. These are around the cycles; of life, menstrual and lunar cycle. Some women experience a little anxiety around speaking in this way. When I first started going to women's circles, my heart would often be pounding as the bowl or talking stick made its way closer to me. What helped was calm breathing, and coming back to the present moment, who was speaking and what they were saying. It is rare in our modern world to offer our full presence to someone as they speak, or receive it from another person. The talking circle is a place where we can gift that to each other. You do not need to rehearse what you're going to say, just say what arises when the talking bowl arrives in your hands. It is not a space for giving advice or judgment, but rather to sit and witness what arises. Sharing in circle like this is a powerful way to connect to the wisdom within you. By both speaking and listening, so often we can understand, transform or let go whatever it might be that we are sitting with. Sometimes this happens in circle, other times, it might be some time after you have gone home. We usually end with a Shamanic process like a Drum journey, occasionally a meditation, sometimes singing and drumming. This will vary from one circle to the next, depending on the unique constellation of souls who come together for that particular circle. You are warmly invited to come along and experience the red tent if you fell drawn to.
