23.01.2022 The Show on Sunday 12th July will have local scale model builder Steve "Animal" Charlton exhibiting part of his collection of vintage hand crafted scale model electric slot cars on display. Some will even get a run on a track set up for the event. Some of the cars were scratch built in the 1960s so there will be some great adaptations of plastic kit cars to hand built metal chassis
22.01.2022 NOTE - the Castlemaine Auto Model Show (and Coffee Cruise) scheduled for Sunday 12th July has been moved to Sunday September 27th - hopefully by then, Victorians will be able to gather in numbers
22.01.2022 NOTE - this Event is POSTPONED til a later date (to be advised) due to changes in Covid 19 rules Anyone looking for a great night out after being locked up for three months? The Theatre Royal in Castlemaine is showing Ford vs Ferrari next Wednesday and Friday nights at 7pm - Covid restrictions apply so numbers are limited - best to book your tickets - a fantastic fundraiser for Castlemaine Hot Rod Centre
21.01.2022 Will be a few interesting special exhibits at the Castlemaine Auto Model Show on Sunday 12th July at Autoplex Castlemaine, 35 Etty St. Chris McConnell will bring along his latest 3D printed models and also have a 3D printer at work printing out his latest creations.
21.01.2022 Some clarification on entries/prizes/trophies. Entries open and can be set up on Friday evening - we go home about 8pm. Then again Saturday morning 9am til 11am. The doors open to the public at 11am. Peoples Choice voting slips will be given to each modeller entrant and each public entrant. They must be lodged by 3.30 pm on Sunday. There will be only two trophies this year - Overall Peoples choice and Mayors Pick (she will pick her favourite - and remember its her decision - she is NOT a model car enthusiast - she drives as Prius!) Other prizes in other catergories will be given depending on what is donated. Trophies & Prizes will be handed out at 4pm on Sunday and modellers have til 5pm to remove their displays
21.01.2022 Time to plan your weekend in Castlemaine for the Auto Model Show - July 13th and 14th - hitch up the caravan or book a motel or BnB - two full days at the new Autoplex Castlemaine (the former Secondary School campus in Etty Street). 20.01.2022 A great selection of diecast models will be for sale by one of our trade stands at great prices - includes some New In Box. There will be multiple Trade Stands with full kits and those tiny parts for all types. Only two weeks to go - lets hope it is not like todays weather! But the Autoplex Castlemaine building is massive so plenty of room inside
19.01.2022 Wow - tomorrow the second Castlemaine Auto Model Show opens at 11am - entrants can set up from 9am at Autoplex Castlemaine, 35 Etty St, Castlemaine - the former Secondary School. We already have a great display set up on Friday night. Hot Coffee available from 9am. See you there!

18.01.2022 The Castlemaine Auto Model Show is scheduled for Sunday, July 12 and, subject to Covid 19 restrictions, will still go ahead. Our Autoplex Castlemaine venue will allow enough space for current social distancing requirements within the space and visitor number controls will be in place if needed. We are currently quite confident of being able to stage the show as planned, but should there be any changes to current protocols, the most likely outcome will be that the show will b...e moved back to the same period in August. Keep checking social media for any updates. As in the past a Castlemaine Coffee Cruise will be held to coincide with the Auto Model Show, culminating at Autoplex Castlemaine where coffee and light refreshments will be available throughout the day. Any enquiries regarding the Auto Model Show should be directed to Kim Michelmore 0412 276 772. Some helpers will be required for the weekend so let Kim know in advance.
17.01.2022 Its 11 weeks til the scheduled date for the Castlemaine Auto Model Show and (at this stage) we are still onboard to make it happen. So make sure you have plenty of models for display Sunday 12th July - one day only- at Autoplex Castlemaine - carpeted, heated, hot food and coffee, 3D printer, slot car track, trade stands - hand made trophies - what a way to celebrate

16.01.2022 Entry Forms are now available for the Castlemaine Auto Model Show on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July at the Autoplex Castlemaine, 35 Etty St Castlemaine - set up Friday night or Saturday morning - opens 11am Saturday to 5pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm There will be MUCH more room to display this year - the Autoplex is in a former basketball stadium!
15.01.2022 This Corona Virus is starting to impact - the Quarterly General Meeting of Castlemaine Hot Rod Centre Ltd that was to be held on Friday 20.3 has been cancelled. At this stage the Castlemaine Auto Model Show on Sunday 12th July is planned to go ahead - we will monitor the situation and advise closer to time. Think of all the hours of social isolation you will have to build the best models!

12.01.2022 It is with much regret that we announce that the 2020 Castlemaine Auto Model Show is now officially CANCELLED. With Melbourne in lockdown (and we are likely to go the same way) and no real known end in sight, we have made the decision to try again in 2021!
12.01.2022 The Auto Model Show is hosted by Castlemaine Hot Rod Centre Limited - its their AGM tonight - 7pm at Wesley Hill Hall in Castlemaine. Get along, hear the reports (not boring) and listen to Gary and Lyndall McClure talk about their unique Drought Relief Project they are implementing through Castlemaine Rotary Club

10.01.2022 Four weeks to go til the 2020 Auto Model Show! There will be Covid19 restrictions which will include queue at entrance stay 1.5m apart in line, sanitise hands at hand station, sign in with name and mobile number, pay your entry fee of $5 per adult (kids free) please have correct change or paywave, ... stay 1.5m away from others while inside the building, entry to display rooms will be restricted to 30/20/20 = 80 people upstairs at a time, downstairs at coffee van restricted to 50 people at a time, toilets restricted to 3 persons per block at a time (sanitise hands before and after entry), if you need to cough or sneeze do it into your elbow if you are unwell, been overseas or health compromised please stay home. Together we can make this happen!!!!!!
