19.01.2022 Thanks to all who came to our AGM and to a fascinating #ClayStation number 7. It was, as someone said, the best AGM I’ve ever been to! And welcome to our new committee members! Lots of new energy and ideas in the room, and excitement for future steps! Straight after scoffing some yummy @dulcelunar.finefoods sustenance, some of us got stuck into removing @nmwmade’s sculpture so the container can be placed on its footings, and Mark got some more building materials...... with ...the gorgeous 17week old Hazel overseeing operations! 07.01.2022 By way of introduction, here’s a #Repost from @amykennedyceramics (we couldn’t say it better than the artist herself) Back in March, on the way to the kiln hall at #shigarakiceramicculturalpark with expert assistance from staff member @yoshikorakusai My project during my 10-week residency was to develop large scale sculptural works with ceramic glass hybrid materials. I specifically wanted to carry out this project at The Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park because of the ...expertise of the staff there, having considerable experience in all facets of ceramics, including the creation, transport, loading and firing of large scale works. (Note: for MY practice these works were large, but not large compared to other work being created at SCCP!) Through my own project and observing others at work I have gained a good understanding (which I plan to build on) and will slowly integrate it into my studio practice here in Melbourne.
