25.01.2022 It has been a big few weeks around the Camp Reserve this month with the announcement of the 'Master Plan' to redevelop the facilities and coaching appointments. Firstly, welcome to the coaching staff for 2021 Brodie Martin, Brodie has moved out of the role of under 18's coach after the cancelation the 2020 season and stepped into a senior assistant under coach Don Moran as 'Development Coach'. Well done Brodie and we wish you the best in the new role. Secondly, thank you to... the Committee of Management of the Camp Reserve with their breakthrough in getting the 'Master Plan' up in the Shire. This would not happen without the hard work that this committee has done, this is a great leap forward for our community to have the best facilities possible for not only football and netball, but many other sporting and focus groups. Special thanks to Mount Alexander Shire Councillor Max Lesser that was instrumental in doing this! See more

25.01.2022 If the season had of started as planned - the first match of season 2020 would’ve been the celebration of one of our most loyal & supportive players, life member & supporter (pictured here in his first pre season - 2008) of his 150th senior match - might be a famous recruit you recognise running next to him & a couple of boys you will recognise from the district ... let’s hope we get to celebrate this wonderful occasion at some stage & new & old players, supporters & members get along to cheer him on Nearly there Dave Stephens

24.01.2022 Well done to our girls playing in the CDNA Under 18 competition! Getting to play sport in 2020 is a massive effort but also becoming Premiers to top it off, winning by 15 points! Great to see our youth coming through. Also with our last netball training for the year tonight as we head into the Christmas break, kicking off at 6 o'clock.

23.01.2022 Merry Christmas and have a happy new year!! Stay safe and enjoy a well deserved break!

23.01.2022 Just a reminder to all that our AGM is tomorrow night! We look forward to seeing you all there.

21.01.2022 Nest News! We are pleased to announce that our football coaches for season 2021 have been appointed! Starting with the seniors, Don Moran had an explosive start to his time as head coach of the club with many new and old faces getting behind him ready for season 2020, unfortunately with the season cancellation we have missed seeing what could have been but with Don continuing on we can rest assured that big things are happening. Continuing on from the trend of Don, Dave Ste...phens has also been reappointed as reserve's coach. As everyone knows what Dave brings to the club, being a player for many years, part of the leadership on and off the field and most of all a life member of the club, we are truly blessed to have your continual support for the club. Finally, we come to the under 18's, after two years coaching the side Brodie Martin has stepped away from the role. We thank Brodie for his time and efforts, when Brodie took the role on we had not had an under 18's team the year prior and brought the team together to gather some strong performances and a couple of wins, however his time is not up with us as he is moving into a new role within the football department (so watch this space). Our latest appointment comes with big wraps as he has coached from our under 14's through to under 16's and having won the premiership in 2019 we are sure he is ready for the next step, we welcome John Watson to the role. Like Dave Stephens, John has been a player for many years and is a big part of leading the group. We thank you all that were involved over the last 12 months setting up for season 2020 but our attention must turn to 2021 and we hope nothing but the best for our players, coaches and supporters.

21.01.2022 A fantastic morning at Wesley Hill today with our Junior arm hosting a 'New Player's Day'. Older players were also welcome and encouraged to attend. Great to see so many smiling faces there, including some of our Senior Players, Committee Members and Coaches! How great is community sport?

21.01.2022 Congratulations to Riley Pedretti on being selected into the 22 for the BFNL's 2020 Fan Team!! Well done on representing the club.

20.01.2022 Hi all, Please take note of the current opportunities of one of our major sponsors!

17.01.2022 The Castlemaine Football Netball Club Junior Football Committee is pleased to announce that junior football is back! 2020 will be a 10-week season with 8 home and away games and 2 finals starting 17/18 July and concluding 19/20 September. It’ll be a staged return to training starting with the U14s and U16s. ... U14s Thursdays 5.00 6.00pm at Wesley Hill from 25 June. U16s Mondays and Wednesdays 4.30 6.00 at the Camp Reserve from 22 June. U14s Girls Wednesdays 5.00 6.00pm at Wesley Hill from 1 July. Details on U12s and U10s training will be available shortly. Safe return to training The key principle is ‘Get in, Train, Get out’. - parents need to drop their children at training - not mingle with other parents - collect their children directly following the training session. - Children who make their own way to and from training need to attend the training, train and then leave. During training - groups of no more than 20 (we can have 2 groups on the oval at once if separated) - no gathering before or after training - non-contact drills only (also no high fives etc) - everyone must hand sanitise before entering the oval - balls will be sanitised - everyone must avoid spitting etc - maintain 1.5m distance as much as possible - we can’t use change rooms so players must arrive and leave in their training gear - no shared drink bottles everyone needs to bring their own. Players and families who may not feel comfortable returning to training or play should speak to their coach about opt-out and alternative training options. Please note: things are changing rapidly. Keep an eye out for updates. For more details visit www.castlemianefnc.com.au. If you have any questions or concerns please call Chris Mackenzie 0417 551 544 or email [email protected]

17.01.2022 Welcome to our newest recruit for season 2021, Liam Wilkinson! Liam comes to us from his home town of Echuca, where he started as a junior and then moved into senior level there in the Goulburn Valley Football League. Liam played around 180 senior games and plays CHB/CHF, with a plethora of knowledge he will be a massive inclusion to our young list. Make sure we make him feel welcome!

15.01.2022 Hi all, At the advice of Government medical authorities, the AFL and our own commission, AFLCV, we have made the decision as a club that we will cease all training programs, practice matches and any social functions until further notice. This includes all sections of the club - Football operations, Netball operations, Masters, Junior operations and Social operations. We kindly appreciate everyone’s cooperation to do our bit to keep the club and the wider community safe and ...hope that everyone remains well. However, this situation is bigger than football and netball. It is imperative that we keep each other safe and look out for one another whether that be a phone call or a message. At the end of the day without the people we have no club so please keep an eye and ear out for the wellbeing of each other over the coming weeks. Kind regards, CFNC

We will transition to this in mid November.... All past and current 18’s, Reserves and Seniors are invited and welcome to participate, as well as any District players wanting to come get a head start on the 2021 season. The Club has been granted permission to commence training but must follow COVID return to play guidelines. What does this mean: 1. Rooms cannot be used by players and officials 2. On arrival players must hand sanitise their hands, record names and contact numbers. 3. Players must bring their own labelled drink bottle and are not to share. 4. Social distancing is to be encouraged where practicably possible. 5. There will be no contact drills 6. Players will train in groups of 10 plus the coach. 7. The only equipment to be used are footballs and they will be sanitised at the start and end of training. 8. If you have any symptoms please stay away and if you undertake a test please contact the Clubs COVID Officer to confirm a negative result before returning to training. 9. Players are to leave immediately at the end of training and are not to gather or socialise in the carpark. Training will be structured, targeted and aimed at our playing group based on how the group presents. Therefore, if you feel underdone and not ready to start, please note that the longer you stay away the harder it will be when you decide to return to training. The Club is looking forward to seeing old and new faces, so spread the word and be part of your Football Club rebuild and be a part of history. Remember that this is your Club and being part of this Club means that you are representing your town that plays in the districts Premier League in Central Victoria. We encourage you all to take the opportunity to continue the tradition and legacy of one of the oldest country football clubs in the nation. 14.01.2022 Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances our under 18's match against Maryborough has been postponed. Safety comes first and we respect the outcome for today, hope all our players and members remain safe over the weekend. However, we wish our netball side all the best today and full support to all the girls and support staff.

12.01.2022 Hi all, In light of recent world events, the CFNC have endeavoured to establish a central group through which our club members, supporters and the wider community can contact in times of need. Please welcome the newly formed Castlemaine Football & Netball Club 'Well-being Team'. Our club and its affiliates are valued to us, and in this time of crisis, we believe that it is more important than ever to keep an eye and ear out for each other. This team has undertaken wellbein...g training in conjunction with Chirp Castlemaine and GoodSports to ensure that we are able to target and assist with necessary areas we have identified as relevant to our club and beyond. We believe that now is the time to reach out, to show compassion, to share and to listen. Please do not hesitate to contact the Castlemaine Football Netball Club, its committee, training staff, and particularly the members of this team where necessary! To get to know a bit about our new team we have asked each of them a few questions, these questions were:What is your role at the club? If you play, what position do you play? How long have you been at the club? What is your secret talent? What AFL team to do you support? Their answers will be commented on their photos so just click through each one and get to know them.
