08.01.2022 When I am thinking about the glass plates, the whole equipment, the Zone system of Ansel Adams, it looks like fun today in the digital world. The old days the negative has a fixed contrast ratio that could not be managed easily and you had to measure all the zones in the composition and calculate a very accurate exposure. That’s why a lot of the old school photographers were doing great images, because the cost was high, not only the materials, but the efforts. Today we can change the film sensitivity from frame to frame and importing the image from the camera to the mobile gives you even more possibilities...highlights, brilliance, black point are just a few of the multitude of the sliders in a basic phone editing software.
