Well never fear- with the end of our performance season comes the return of our regular open class schedule! We have professionals level open classes every morning from 9-10.30, and an array of availabilities for all levels in the evening. 02.01.2022 CONGRATULATIONS to The Samaya Wives and High Tea with Mrs Woo for being shortlisted for the 2019 Australian Dance Award for Outstanding Achievement on film or new media Oten was developed through a Propel Residency at Catapult Dance Choreographic Hub and presented as part of the Propel - A Major Event at the Newcastle Art Gallery in October 2019 OTEN is an incredible dance film, created in Newcastle that speaks to an integral facet of human nature: our imperfections. And yet..., the slow cadence and dreamy expressiveness of the text provides a moment of stillness, a chance to see the beauty in these so-called ‘flaws.’ And, so too we are affected by the reflective nuances of the film. 01.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS Catapult Company: Newcastle's professional dance company commences the creation of a new work on Monday that will premiere in February 2021. This means Catapult is premiering two new works in February. After COVID-19 this is ultra exciting. This new dance theatre work: directed by Cadi McCarthy and Craig Bary will be a fun, humorous and entertaining evening of contemporary dance theatre with many many fun surprises. ... This work alongside Acquist premiering at the Civic Fountain also in February as part of the New Annual Festival will launch Catapult's very extensive 2021 season of professional works and residencies.
