15.01.2022 ** CATAPULT 2020 ANNOUNCEMENT ** As funding dries up and the legwork grows beyond the scope of our staff, we’ve had to make the very hard decision of letting go of Catapult Festival. But to celebrate in style and with a bit of a bang, BMEC Bathurst and Bathurst Regional Councilwill be celebrating the end of an era by holding 5 days of skill-building workshops. Catapult in 2020 will be a condensed offering, centred around masterclasses with Gravity & Other Myths, in Bathurst with their show Backbone, followed by skillsharing between participants. Dates are 14-18 April, 2020. We suggest sending a small number of participants from youth troupes, ideally 2 to 4 with a trainer. If you are interested please speak with your troupe management or email us. Get in touch quickly to express your interest, we'll have limited places!

10.01.2022 "There’s just something very human about circus, Australian circus especially," Jasha Boyce, Gravity and Other Myths. Catapult is proud to be one of the first festival experiences for the touring circus artists of the future.

04.01.2022 Hello dear circus friends! Catapult Festival organisers have made the heavy decision to call curtains on this facebook page as our operations as a festival have ceased. The page will be unpublished at the end of the week and we thank you all for your support over the years. Admin rights have been handed over should it ever need to be revived. Rest assured that the team will continue to support the Australian Youth Circus Sector. As the great actor David Niven once said, Kee...p the circus going inside you, keep it going, don't take anything too seriously, it'll all work out in the end. You can stay up to date on BMEC Bathurst operations and ventures on their facebook page. And we thank Bathurst Regional Council for their support over the years. If you haven’t already we encourage you to follow the following companies and artists on facebook to keep our community connected (or tag more in the comments). 01.01.2022 Happy World Environment Day from the Catapult community! This year's focus is on beating air pollution, so take up the challenge to wear a mask today and start thinking about what you can do to beat air pollution. Some things you can do include...... - Use public transport or car sharing, cycle or walk - Switch to a hybrid or electric vehicle and request electric taxis - Turn off the car engine when stationary - Reduce your consumption of meat and dairy to help cut methane emissions - Compost organic food items and recycle non-organic trash - Switch to high-efficiency home heating systems and equipment and turn off lights and electronics when not in use - Choose non-toxic paints and furnishings #BeatAirPollution #WorldEnvironmentDay
