22.01.2022 Tyler ..... and his stunning little family. I'm so honoured to have been able to capture these moments for Chris and Amy. A lifestyle newborn shoot is so much more than just an adorable baby posed in a clever way. It's about capturing the essence of what that 'newborn bubble' is all about. The precious moments of bonding and connection between baby and family, but also between the parents as they share in the miracle they have created. Some moments are raw, and some may seem mundane, but all of them come together to make life complete.

16.01.2022 One of the benefits of doing these shoots is that it's reunited me with some friends who I haven't seen in months. In THIS case, it's reunited me with a friend I haven't seen in about 9 years!! Kylee and I have been friends since Primary School, 30 years since prep!! It was our first proper holiday as a little family (Ebony was 14 months old) and we also got to share our time with some of our favorite friends.... We spent time in KL, Brunei and Langkawi. 15.01.2022 So I posted on my personal page a few days ago asking for peoples ‘Silver Lining’ with our current situation. I mentioned that my kids hadn’t brought home nits once this year, which is true, and significant when my daughter has thick noodle hair. What I didn’t expect was the overwhelming response and wonderful stories that have come out of an otherwise negative situation. Allow me to share a summary of some of the responses for you;... Saving Money; through less petrol, impulse buys, reduced/cancelled/suspended fees for gyms and swimming. Less food court and drive thru meals. Reduced commute times, more available parking and easier or non-existent public transport commutes. No colds, flus, bronchitis and asthma this season (or very very few) New pets and spending quality time with the ones we already have. Healthier, happier and well maintained gardens. Most importantly; Dads and Mums are at home more. Much more family time. Opportunities to bond, connect and learn more about each other. One VERY impressive weight loss that I am just dying to see in person!! None of us chose to be in this situation. It certainly isn’t how we viewed our year when we counted down to 2020, BUT, if you can find some silver linings like the ones above, you’re doing ok!! Do you have any more for me??

14.01.2022 What kind of photographer do I want to be? Post #1 of ?? I’ve been thinking... (it’s about all we’re able to do in Melbourne at the moment) While I’m still unable to get out and about and gain experience photographing people and families, I thought I’d identify my photography goals. ... It sounds completely cliche, but I feel like this is something I was always meant to do. For as long as I can remember I’ve loved having a camera in my hand (whether I knew what I was doing or not). Many friends would agree they could usually rely on me to bring my camera to kids birthday parties etc. While my skill has improved over the years it’s certainly got a long way to go which will lead me to goal #1. Always continue learning. Whether it’s doing courses, picking the brains of professionals, watching YouTube tutorials or just practice, practice, practice. I will endeavor to learn as much as I can about becoming a better photographer. Captured: So many emotions for one bath time.

The first two times I went I had the joy of traveling with my Aunty and two cute-as little cousins. Getting to experience a few aspects of the island ‘like a local’ as opposed to just a tourist was fantastic and something I won’t forget. ... 10.01.2022 #15PhotosOfJoy #8Of15 One of the greatest joys in my life has been watching Ebony become a big sister. Truthfully I wish I’d put more effort into the ‘First Meeting’ photos but I guess that just wasn’t my focus in that moment. I did take a couple of quick photos of Ebony’s first cuddle with Dillon and this was one. Ebony (22 months) did not want a baby. Whenever anyone asked her if she was excited she said ‘No!’. If anyone asked if she thought she was getting a brother or a s...ister her answer was ‘No!’. At no point in my pregnancy did she indicate that a sibling was something she wanted or would enjoy and at the time, it did cause me a bit of anxiety about how she would handle it. When the moment came though, this smile told me everything. 02.01.2022 #15PhotosOfJoy #13Of15 I know what you’re thinking,.. I skipped day 12! In actual fact I accidentally repeated day 9... so here we are. Baby Dillon. That’s what we called him til he was about 2. He’s my big boy. This baby gave me a completely stress free pregnancy and birth... he was saving the ‘fun’ for later ... Dillon dances to a different tune than a lot of other people. Many people don’t understand it, some can’t even hear it. It’s a beautiful tune that he dances to but it can require a lot of patience if you want to dance along. It is a joy to learn Dillons tune. It definitely helps me learn a lot about myself in the process. This is baby Dillon at a few hours old.
