24.01.2022 This year the Catch it in the Catchment clean-up is targeting plastic straws. Hundreds were collected last year!

23.01.2022 The Catch it in the Catchment event is also a great time to learn more about our beautiful estuary and understand why it is everyone's responsibility to help keep it clean. Enjoy this small presentation - so lucky to have local people sharing their knowledge.

21.01.2022 Come on, one hour today is all it takes to be part of the final Clean Up Local event. A great group of people to share a small part of you Sunday with.

16.01.2022 A big Thank you to the Windmill Hill Lions Club. Nothing like a sausage sizzle to feed our hungary volinteers. Thanks for your support and big smiles. Loved having you involved.

14.01.2022 420 Kg of rubbish diverted away from our estuary by 267 participants...so far! We are still waiting to hear from several groups. To everyone who participated today and during the week (what a success that was making this a week-long event) a heartfelt thank you from Tamar NRM. This event is more than about picking up rubbish - it's also about being part of the community, meeting and making friends and contributing to an event that shows we value the health of the rivers and estuary and are prepared to do something about it. Importantly we aim to educate the community about how to reduce and responsibly deal with their waste. A heartfelt thank you to all participants from Tamar NRM.

13.01.2022 Do you want to know more about our beautiful estuary and why we are so keen to catch litter in the catchment before it makes its way into kanamaluka? Come along on Saturday and stop by at the Plastic Free Launceston display table.

09.01.2022 Try and avoid synthetic clothing to help reduce plastic micro-fibres entering kanamaluka / the Tamar Estuary

09.01.2022 Catch it in the Catchment is on again! We all love the Tamar and are getting more familiar with its beautiful name - kanamaluka Keep a few hours free during the week of Monday 2 - Sunday 8th November and encourage your family, friends, school, business, club or community group to help out for just a few hours. Show how much you love this estuary that we live, work and play alongside of. This is one of last years pics taken at the Keslo Fire Station. A great group and look at the stuff they pulled out of the Tamar!

07.01.2022 A lot of great people were involved in making the Catch it in the Catchment event a success. A special thanks to Veolia for the donation of bins. Having these bins meant we were able to empty and recycle the rubbish bags for next year.

02.01.2022 Some great moments from last year's clean-up

01.01.2022 Have you registered your interest in one of Australia's biggest clean-up events? Contact us at [email protected] or via the Catch it the Catchment Facebook page and let us know when, and where you will be catching rubbish before it enters our beautiful waterways. You can clean up at a local park, place of work or study or contact us and we will help you find a group or a site. This is a week-long event and we only need a small amount of your time to make a big difference. The picture is some of the 710 plastic straws picked up from around Royal Park during 3 clean up events! Surly more can't be there! Please spread the word with any of your networks
