20.01.2022 It is my belief that what lies ahead of us is usually a culminating result effected by events passed. Truth be told I am no different from the majority. Im motivated by results. End results. Gains. Wins. That being said, the process has always interested me as well. How do we get there? How do we get there without screwing up? There are enormous messes that cannot be cleaned without time and transparency in our lives today. I am many things. One of them is a teacher. A prima...ry classroom teacher. A behaviour support coach a positive behaviour for learning coach a mindfulness teacher and yoga teacher. Mostly I look after childrens well-being. I consider my role to be one of importance and necessity. I say this without ego. It just is. I do not work in privileged schools. I attended one. But I do not work with students who have optimistic trajectories. Some do. Im sure. There are exceptions to patterns. To data. But mostly the generational trauma and poverty that these students lives are built on usually perpetuate the same. I am confronted daily by the truths of a society backlash. My life is bi polar. I work in the trenches but I live safely. Comfortably. I know what happens to the children I teach support guide and nurture. But I/We can only do so much. Our systems are broken because our source is weakened by the lack of unapologetic patronising of our politicises . Teachers. Education. Learning. Knowledge. Guidance. This is source. This is equality. This is opportunity. Until policy understands that education is the bedrock of our society and holds those who deliver the lessons in the highest esteem then we will forever be in this cycle of generational poverty and trauma that debilitates our society. We are a resilient mob. This gorgeous girl who seeks continuity and belonging after years of movement is again being asked to deal with another change.
