18.01.2022 Wise words Wednesday I cant tell you how soul satisfying it is to create business out of your passion. Im not gonna lie, the universe guided me here and I had to trust that I was on the right path - a path with no destination. Im not great at writing goals and inputting plans of attack. I do things when they feel right. I have no end goal... my only mission is to do what feels right until it feels like something needs to change. I found something that I love doing, ...a skill I didnt know I even had, and with a bit of hard work and a whole lot of passion & trust, I find myself living and loving my job. I feel like Im ever evolving.... and Im enjoying the ride So, my wise words of advice? If its not working for you, change something. And if it feels like it is working? 18.01.2022 Oh what an honour it was to travel and be a part of this birth journey. Words below by the beautiful mother herself, @tinacharlton_ Tully John Charlton ... Ten moons of growing you come to an end. Today, your cord separated, but our connection will remain forever. Today, we named you and welcomed you into our family once more with a little ceremony (any many joyful tears). Born free at home on Thursday morning after sunrise. Into his mama’s hands and surrounded by his papa and big brother after less than an hour of active labour. The wildest, most intense, humbling, and surreal experience of my life. Bringing this baby into the world at home on my own terms, without medical assistance, has been a given for me since Kai’s birth. And as much as I had to do a lot work to get there, it was also the simplest, most natural thing in the world. I can’t imagine it any other way. Tully’s birth was not at all what I expected or envisioned. I looked back at my journal a few days post birth and had to laugh when I read the words ‘peaceful’ and ‘pure bliss & joy’ where I wrote about my dream birth. Wild, primal, intense and overwhelming (in the most positive sense) is probably more fitting. Now that the shock has worn off I can say I love it exactly the way it was - every second of it. Only moments old and baby is firmly against mummas belly, being held & supported so lovingly in the safe hands of both mum and dad. What an amazing start to this newborns life!

Whenever I am asked to speak about the value of birth photography, I always refer back to this birth story - often with tears welling up in my eyes.
