25.01.2022 The Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue summer guest taking centre stage today is Silvie. At just under a year old, she has plenty of playfulness and she is also extremely self sufficient and content to play away on her own. Silvie would be a great kitty for someone that is away all day as she is really happy in her own space. She is also very affectionate and enjoys pats but currently she is certainly not showing signs of being a lap cat. If you would enjoy some feline company but not want a cat that is uber demanding of your attention, consider meeting sweet little Silvie while she is with us in Brissie.

25.01.2022 We are thoroughly enjoying becoming familiar with each of our very adoptable special summer guests from BVCR. Nicole Katman is our feature kitty today. Super duper snuggly, alert, curious and ready for her own home. Nicole adores watching out the window and usually greets anyone that peers in. She is a around 1 year old and came into foster after being found with heat exhaustion. She had her no more functioning lady bits surgery about 3 weeks ago. A delightful, petite and happy kitty.

24.01.2022 Some selfies with our two ginger dudes. Van is the medium hair and Archie is the shorter hair. Both gents are gentle and affectionate. Our Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue guests are all perfect for adoption. Just send us a message if you would like to meet any that are with us for the summer.

24.01.2022 CEO Marble wants to know why I am not working harder.

23.01.2022 Fancy a bit of spice in your life? If you are someone that likes a bit of unpredictable and character in your cat then have a look at the intelligent and stunning Marble. It may just be that Marble has hit an adolescent phase but she is looking for a place she can be active and given things to occupy her mind and energy. Probably not ideal with kids and while she is currently sharing with other cats she may be best on her own or with a more mature and parental cat that will ...demonstrate to Marble when she has crossed barriers. Marble is also one of the first to leap onto a lap or snuggle up for a nap with you. She is looking for someone that will engage with her and help her learn the ways of the wise ones. She is not destructive but can be a tad cranky when she has energy to burn. Definitely a cat for a person with great cat mo jo. Approximately 12 to 14 months - all Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue adoptions include a 30 day settling period. Contact BVCR or message us at CatHairBNB to arrange a meet and greet while she is a guest in Brissie.

22.01.2022 Summer is technically over and a few of our Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue friends have returned to base camp, a few have been happily adopted and we now are down to the last 4. They will be here in Bris with us for another week or so and then we will farewell our new friends. It would be sooooooo awesome if we were farewelling them as they went to their own homes instead. In this post we will feature our most youthful 3 - all happy, friendly and great with other cats. Nicole is uber loving and would be good with a family or a quiet home. Either (or both) of the two boys would make you feel special. Cobber and Archie are great dudes.

22.01.2022 Thank you FaceBook peeps!!! Nicole Katman has just been adopted and that is the last of our summer guests from Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue. BVCR has many wonderful , loved and healthy cats for adoption. Please consider them if you ever are looking for a new fur baby. For those that asked, Cindy Lou will have her own post in the future, but for now her undercover mission involves infiltrating the domain our very own Cat. ... For now, we are going to enjoy a break, a big clean and then a big sleep in. Our gratitude to all the new families and wish all the kitties a happy life.

21.01.2022 Nicole Katman is as bewildered as we are. Voted kitty most likely to get adopted, she is young, healthy, friendly, affectionate, great with other cats and probably cat trained children and yet here she is - the last of our summer guests from Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue without a home and family to love. Nicole will be with us for a teeny bit longer and nothing would be more brilliant than seeing her off with her own adoption.

21.01.2022 We confess. Playtime is as much for us as it is for guests. An excellent way to relax and get to know each other.

21.01.2022 Nicole Katman tried to convince me that she would make a better model for the cat food bag. She is such a lovely cat that loves to be part of all the action. Very affectionate lady. Even Archie thinks she worth a quick kiss Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue

21.01.2022 Today we would like to tell you a bit about Cobber and Van. These two young guys are very laid back and at ease with the world. Just a delight to relax with. Affectionate and companionable but also very calm and content on their own. Two beautiful souls - either would make a wonderful friend in your home but also an opportunity to consider adopting the two guys together as they are already at ease in each others company. Van is a medium hair ginger and enjoys a bit of brushing and Cobber has a lovely dense short coat. Van is also a window fan and spends a lot of time watching the world go by. PM us or Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue for more detail or to arrange to meet.

20.01.2022 Adult adoptions are too rare in animal rescue but today we happy for Van who has now headed for his 30 day settling in period. Happy life beautiful man. I hope you and the new adoptive brother form a fine friendship. Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue

20.01.2022 Archie just tried to pass the cat test. If I almost fits, I still sits! 9.5 may not be exactly his size

20.01.2022 Somehow Archie managed to delete some of my work and then change screens to an internet search, all with his bottom! He is a ridiculously sweet lad. Gets on well with everyone. Calm and gentle but also very curious about the world. Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue

18.01.2022 Ten points if you can correctly tell me how many cats are trying to stay calm and cool in this photo. Bonus 20 points if you can name them all I hope everyone is keeping a close eye on their fur friends if you are located anywhere near us (or across most of Australia!). We check in on our guests frequently and in between we use a webcam. Our guests ate about an hour ago and had their water bowls refreshed. We put a little extra fluid in their wet food too. They are now sensibly conserving energy in the heat and that floor is a lovely cooling coated concrete.

18.01.2022 Sneak peak at 2 of our 4 new guests as they started to settle. We asked 2 of the boys to select a few toys.

18.01.2022 Looks like Archie and Cobber are fans of Star Trek Picard. Maybe a Trek fan could adopt them together :)

16.01.2022 I installed a few more shelves in the HairBall Room. Looks like they have the cat paw of approval.

16.01.2022 Wow! What a day. Second adoption and the affectionate, people loving happy dude Archie is off on his settling in period. New home and new name. Waiting to see if his mum goes with Ossie or Ozzie. Happy life you wonderful, dear fellow. Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue.

15.01.2022 Who cares about fireworks and New Year celebrations when you have a treat ball? Marble gave this one a tick of approval. By the way, how stunning are her coat and markings?

14.01.2022 Yay Cobber! This endearing lad has headed off for his settling in period with his new home. We love a happy start to the weekend and have a happy life you charming boy. Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue

14.01.2022 Because we are a small service, we can spend extra time to make sure all guests are making the adjustment. Unfamiliar places can be very stressful and that can lead to health issues. Some like to play but others are more in need of calm, unthreatening movement and quiet companionship. We provide low and high places with options for privacy are and we let the cat communicate with us about how much attention they want, or do not want. We are always excited to see eating, drinking and toilet use. Ms A, Ms P as well as playful Mr S are now all interacting and settling in.

14.01.2022 For those waiting for news on Cindy Lou, after a month or so of being given lots of time and space to explore our own home, she made a decision. Cindy Lou sent this message to the amazing Louise at Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue. Louise said YES!

13.01.2022 Do you need an Uncle Kitty or a confident guest greeter? A calm kitty that will enjoy just keeping you company? Archie may be the one to fill that void in your life. He is just wonderful with other cats, easy going and keen to be loved. He may be too swift at the door so maybe not best if you have kids unless they are the super responsible type. Archie is a loveable superstar and will be with us in Brisbane for a few more weeks before returning to the shelter at Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue

13.01.2022 Bubba is todays spot light lady. Approximately 5 years old and now she is done with the mum responsibilities she is ready for her own place. A more demure girl but absolutely loving and affectionate. Bubba may just need a few days to settle and believe that your love and attention is genuine. Now she knows us she is quick to run over and hang out for pats. Very respectful with other cats.

13.01.2022 Van, Cobber and Chubby - sounds like members of the opening act for a ZZ Top concert but they are actually 3 more guests from BVCR invited to spend summer with us here in Brisse. The boys arrived yesterday and we will post note about each of our guests as we learn more about them ... and their music preferences! For now we can confirm they are super affectionate, fluffy tailed and ready for adoption.

13.01.2022 Our Rex Rescue friends are helping find a very special and understanding new home.

12.01.2022 The Fab Four boys are back for a short stay. They were instantly at home.

12.01.2022 UPDATE: This girl is ready for city life! Cindy Lou is country farm girl. Apparently she is about 11 but it sure isnt showing. This funny possum only moves about at a fast trot as it seems urgent to get to her favourite perch or race over to us for some loving snuggles.

12.01.2022 Please help us find the perfect home for Marble. Share and chase down anyone you think might be the magic one. We have learned a lot about Marble in the last few months she has been with us. It wasnt till we put her in a room on her own that she became calm and a content kitty. She is very confident and receptive to humans but has a special sour puss snooty face that she saves for other cats. Fortunately Marble is very content with her own company and happy to joyfully occ...upy herself. She loves to greet us, especially when food arrives. We get the biggest snuggles and she loves sitting beside me with her front paws resting on my leg. She will hang out for a little while and then walks off, dismissing us! We need to be honest. She does have her boundaries and a strong will and on a few occasions she has flopped over on her side and thrown a kitty tantrum. She may give you a warning hiss when she has had enough of your attention. Marble would be perfect for a solo or couple without younger or active children. She would be a brilliant companion for someone that is out a lot as she is content with that time alone. A wonderful, funny, quirky character that needs people that respect that about her. Please contact us or Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue to meet or ask further questions.

11.01.2022 Cindy Lou is the Jane Fonda of the cat world! Fit, funny and age defying in a compact packet. Dont let that Grumpy Cat colouring fool you. She is a super happy little bunny. Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue

10.01.2022 This is the shelter where our summer guests normally live. Any assistance to help them restock is appreciated.

10.01.2022 Most of our guests recently have been spending time with us while their families have a short break or are having work done at home. I get the impression Mr S is happy to be at holiday camp and not dealing with home renos. Doesnt he have lovely colouring and he is such a purr bunny.

08.01.2022 We can’t resist sharing. More cats make the day better.

07.01.2022 First introductions of two of our guests from BVCR. Archie is the very calm and cat friendly ginger boy and is about 2 years old. He has a lovely nature and seems to be quietly checking on the wellbeing of all the other cats. If anyone hisses he just sits quietly and gives gentle, non threatening body language. Wonderful to watch this interaction. Marble is around 1 year old and confidently settling in. She has the most stunning markings and we will try to show that better in future photos. (All BVCR guests are available for adoption and can be visited at CatHairBNB.)

06.01.2022 In the last year or so about 90% of our contact has been via Messenger and about 9% via our website and email. We have decided to cancel our dedicated phone. If you wish to speak with us, please send a message and we are happy to provide one of our unlisted or personal numbers.

04.01.2022 Milton the love bug will randomly leap onto my shoulder when I am cleaning the HairBall room. Pretty darn cute. Right now he is ready to snooze after a big play session.

04.01.2022 UPDATE: Great News! Bubba is now on her 30 day settling in period. Fingers crossed all works out and she finally has a family of her very own. We wish you much love sweet lady. Bubba is a Jedi Master. She is a rather Zen cat that monitors the world as she calmly undertakes her meditation. Bubba draws us closer with her mind control till we are sitting in the perfect position to give her lots of pats and scratches. Bubba is happy to hang out with other cats and will monitor th...eir shenanigans from her favourite perch but she rarely feels the need to join the initiates as they learn the ways of the wise ones. Bubba is about 5 years old and is one very low maintenance lady. She would love a house with a throne and and humans to serve and love her. She is our guest at CatHairBNB from Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue and you are welcome to meet her in Brissie.

04.01.2022 Fancy a round of "Caption This"? We are taking a few days to get to know the remainder of our guests before posting a focus post about them. In the meantime, what on earth is Nicole Katman saying???

01.01.2022 It has been understandably quiet at CatHairBNB during the restrictions but we are fortunate to welcome a guest this week while her home has some work done. Such a beautiful coat and she is loving the windows so she can watch the world.
