Cold press paper is fantastic for watercolour texture, Yupo is great for the pigment in alcohol inks, and paint markers are awesome on wooden boards. Research what medium you like and what surface is best for you. 07.01.2022 Reposted from @artbymbacres " Mrena, Just sharing this little landscape from yesterday - It's a bit muddy as I was a bit impatient with layers/drying haha but was just playing with a few supplies that arrived in my@catharticboxau subscription yesterday.... This is a new subscriptionbox based in aussie that I was pretty keen to try out - loved the supplies the paints alone would cost more than the whole box including shipping so it was very good value. It included three tubes of Art Spectrum paints - one of my favourite brushes is an Art Spectrum Golden Taklon brush, I have no idea where I got it from but I really love it - so it was nice to try their artist range of watercolour paint. The paints were good, quite vibrant. the blue seemed to granulate more than the other two which added some nice dimension. I also included a picture of my swatches and mix testing - these primary colours were all a slightly warm rich tone which made a warm purple and very leafy green. I mixed a few versions of my "cheat's black" with these as itcame out really beautifullywith these base colours and I wanted to play around with the undertone shift. I did use a few other supplies in this one which I have listed below too - really enjoyed the box supplies. Our branded tissue paper and mini logo stickers are created by the brand @noissueco where they have their own Eco Packaging Alliance which acknowledge theirs and our sustainable effort. And for every order, they plant trees in areas of need in an effort to combat deforestation. Our paper stickers also meet the certifications of companies li...ke FSC and are printed with soy ink. Our boxes are cardboard, and the coloured tissue paper void fill is also made of 100% recyclable materials. The packing tape is the Monta Green Line which is biodegradable and compostable sticky tape. Australia's first natural rubber adhesive based tape that meets the Australian Standard 4736 (2006) regarding compostability & biodegradability. Our current issue we are looking into is the vinyl sticker logo on our boxes. Which when they break down, create microplastics.
