24.01.2022 We finished the 2016 guide and welcomer training yesterday. 17 volunteers will graduate next Thursday. Three cheers for everyone involved in the training.

20.01.2022 We start a new training for the Cathedral Guides & Welcomers. Cathedral Guides & Welcomers invite you to an information session on Thursday 7 February 2019 at 10.30 am to discover the delights of volunteering with the Cathedral Guides & Welcomers. The meeting will be held in the Hanly Room of the Francis Rush Centre. If you enjoy meeting people; love your Cathedral and revel in good art and juicy history, the rewards of becoming a volunteer with the Cathedral Guides and Welcomers is beyond measure. 16.01.2022 We are beginning a training for anyone who would like to join the Cathedral guides and welcomers. If you are interested in history, sacred art and architecture as well as welcoming visitors, you would enjoy the ministry of guiding and welcoming at the Cathedral. Our information day is on 1 February at 10.30. If you are interested please contact the Cathedral office on 3324 3006 or [email protected]

15.01.2022 Next weekend (12 and 13 October) the Cathedral Guides and Welcomers will be taking part in Brisbane Open House. The Cathedral and Chapel will be open for visitors and a display celebrating 30 years since the renovation of the Cathedral will be held in the Hanly Room. St. Vincent de Paul Society will hold a sausage sizzle and the Cathedral art group will hold a display. You will also find a coffee van and children't activities in the precinct. All are welcome.

15.01.2022 This weekend sees Brisbane Open House https://brisbaneopenhouse.com.au/. The Cathedral precinct will be taking part in this celebration of the city.

13.01.2022 Here are the Guides setting up our post at the Cathedral's Advent Fair on Sunday - with good help, thank goodness. This was the first year we took part in the Advent Fair and it was great. We had local and overseas visitors to take on tours and give information about our cathedral and precinct.

09.01.2022 The Cathedral Guides and Welcomers visited the Synagogue, Margaret Street on 25 July. It was a wonderful experience. Gail Paratz and Ari Heber educated us, welcomed us, answered our questions and made us so welcome it was hard to leave.

09.01.2022 The guides and welcomers support the Advent Fair. We are so pleased to be involved and offer guided tours and information. It is a very joyous event.

07.01.2022 Despite the rain, we had a wonderful weekend with Brisbane Open House. Karren looked after the umbrellas for the wedding while the Cathedral guides welcomed visitors with the BOH people.

01.01.2022 New Guides and Welcomers 2018 Do you enjoy meeting people? Do you love your Cathedral? Do you revel in good art and juicy history?... Do we have an opportunity for you! Talk with us about becoming a volunteer welcomer and guide at the Cathedral of St. Stephen. An information session will be held on 1 February 2018 and a comprehensive six-day training program will begin on 8 February 2018 and continue each Thursday (with one a one week break) until completion on 22 March 2018. A graduation celebration will be held on 5 April 2018. After this you will be supported by a guide or welcomer for six months prior to becoming a fully-fledged guide or welcomer. So come to our information session (10.30-12.30) 1 February 2018 and find out more.
