25.01.2022 Bethany Londyn is an amazing healer and intuit. I highly recommend attending her free masterclass.
25.01.2022 After much deliberation I have decided to temporarily close the clinic as from Wednesday 1 April except for urgent treatments (not cold/flu related). Although we can still officially continue as practitioners registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency), it just feels like it's the right thing to do. I'll let you know when I'm back seeing people face to face. In the meantime, to all of my dear clients, thank you for all of the wonderful support over the years. Keep an eye out for an email that I'll be sending out to you all shortly, as well as on this page. Take care and talk soon. Catherine
24.01.2022 Winter Solstice. Today marks the shortest day and longest night. It celebrates the longest hours of darkness or the rebirth of the sun and is believed to hold a powerful energy for regeneration, renewal and self-reflection. It is a time of quiet energy, where you get the opportunity to look within yourself and focus on what you want and need. It's a time to set goals and intentions for the coming year, to examine and let go of our past, and to make changes within ourselves. ...Today we are also experiencing an annular solar eclipse (though sadly this won't be visible from the southern states of Australia). So find some time this evening to light a candle, be grateful for the sun and the light that it brings, and reflect on where you have come from and what you want to achieve in this next period (weeks, months, years). Happy Solstice everyone! See more
22.01.2022 Great visual to show kids how to wash their hands properly (and adults too!)
22.01.2022 For those of us in Melbourne, it's now time to officially mask -up (though Nillumbik still only has 1 active case, so let's hope we can keep it that way!)
22.01.2022 This speaks to me very much today. Like pulling off a bandaid - you know you have to do it, and then the real healing begins..
20.01.2022 People always seem surprised when I say that my initial appointment takes 1.75hr. Even I wonder if it needs to be that long. But it's usually half way through the consultation part that the real reason someone's coming to see me becomes obvious to both of us - and it's not really the sore knee or constant headaches that they thought was the reason. I like to get the full story in order to really help someone to shift at a deep level.
19.01.2022 Love, Respect as it is ...
18.01.2022 Another way to help coughs from the fires/smoke.
18.01.2022 Some people have asked me about applying rice grain moxa to Stomach 36 (zusanli or ashi no san ri) to help strengthen the body's vital qi amongst other benefits. This is a good video made by my friends and colleagues Michael Warren and Jan Pardy (Woodcock). If you aren't confident to practice rice grain (gold) moxa techniques on yourself or others, a moxa stick or roll can be a good alternative, though that would probably not be as effective as rice grain done by a skilled practitioner. Moxa can cause burns so please be careful (and the creators of this video or myself cannot be responsible for any injuries caused, nor can this post or video be used as medical advice or diagnosis).
17.01.2022 We need more people like Nathan in our streets!
16.01.2022 Right or left brain? The first picture you'll see, will show the most requested hemisphere. Look at the picture quickly. Which animal did you see first?... (1) The head of a tiger: The left hemisphere of your brain is more active than the right. You are an analytical person, very focused on the success of your goals and organized. When you face a problem, you tend to be logic, calculator and objective. However, sometimes you think too much about the decisions you make, checking that they are correct, which makes you tend to be firm. Remember that a little humility will help you help away. Your personality features are as follows: Organized: You do all your things in a planned way, like you have a bucket list. Accurate: you have fixed goals and you know the way to achieve them. lucid: emotions and feelings don't prevent you from reaching your goals. Logic: you have good skills for mathematics, science and organization of ideas. Realistic: your world is very real. There is no room for fairy tales and fiction. And anyway, although your goals may seem to be high for others, you know they are real and doable. (2) Hanging monkey: The right hemisphere of your brain is very active. You are a creative person who has a lot of innovative ideas. When you face a difficult situation, you rather trust your intuition (you're almost always right) instead of resting on critical thinking. You know perfectly well that every step you take in your life is a lesson for you and that even if you lose, it means that you are moving towards the success of your goals. For you, travel is more important than the goal. As you are a dreamer, you often get lost in your own paradise. For you, it's essential to keep your feet on Earth from time to time, realize the reality and pay a little more attention to the world around you. Your personality features are as follows: Impulsive: you do things in a spontaneous way. You have the ability to see everything in a different way compared to other people. Sensitive: you worry a lot about everything. You spend a lot of time thinking and acting based on your feelings. Creative and artistic: you are an expert in music, art and other creative disciplines. Intuitive: you don't list the tasks to do and you don't respect the rules. You solve problems in an intuitive way. Dreamer: you have dreams instead of having goals, and you give the best of you to achieve them, and generally, it's a success. Remember that the two hemispheres of the brain don't work in an insulated way, they work together and complete each other. So, although it looks like you have more features from one of the hemispheres, you may also have features from the other hemisphere. So, what did you see first? The tiger's head or the hanging monkey? Do your personality traits match the descriptions given?
14.01.2022 Pleased to be be back in clinic this week!
12.01.2022 This is too good not to share!! Celebrating being back in clinic this week - doing actual face to face treatments using skin to skin touch (+ proper hand washing, using hand sanitiser, disinfecting between clients etc). SMS me to book in 0413325747.
12.01.2022 Finally! The simple things in life during this time! (though soap and water is still the best)
12.01.2022 Another tip to help with coughs from the smoke. It's important to use sugar crystals, as they help to remove the toxicities. Could possibly also be used as a preventative.
09.01.2022 This is so important to remember especially for those of us in stage 4 lockdown
09.01.2022 Thanks to my colleague Igor Simonov, another old recipe for helping coughs.
09.01.2022 And for those who can stomach liver.. According to my colleague Igor, it's important to use slow cooking with low heat. The sesame seed oil releases heat slower than say olive oil. The oil is half of the medicine - the liver releases juice much slower than if it is fried with a small amount of oil. This is a medicine; not a food.
09.01.2022 2019 was such a big year for me - I spent the first half training my intuition, which was both challenging and a lot of fun. It included a trip to LA - actually to Hollywood of all places! I felt like a 20-something year old again, travelling overseas just for me - though of course the training is also helping my relationships with those around me, plus I can help my clients on another level - so everyone benefits. I've also held moxa workshops in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisb...ane, plus another one back in Melbourne! These have completely pushed me outside of my comfort zone but also been very rewarding to see other practitioners learn more of how to use moxa and better appreciate its healing power. I also coordinated my daughter's school fair which was a massive effort but very rewarding. It was a beautiful day and we raised approx $22K - not bad for a small school of under 200 students! I have so much gratitude for this past year of much personal growth, fun, love and achievements. I look forward to 2020 bringing more of the above, plus some rest and relaxation. I hope to get back to Japan as part of a moxa study tour, as well as visit family and friends. Wishing you all a year filled with all of your hopes and dreams; thank you for all of your support throughout the year; and a big prayer to those people, animals and lands affected by the fires at this time See more
09.01.2022 Hi everyone The Australian Federal Government currently have a petition open, and if it gets enough signatures by October 16th it will mean that they will deb...ate declaring a climate emergency in the lower house. Unlike other advocacy groups, this one is by the parliament meaning they will debate it if they get the signatures so please spread far and wide. When signing, make sure you do the last step which is verifying your email. https://www.aph.gov.au/petition_sign?id=EN1041
09.01.2022 TRAFFIC is gone, GAS is affordable, BILLS extended. KIDS are at home with their FAMILIES. PARENTS are home taking care of their CHILDREN.... FAST FOOD replaced by HOME COOKED MEALS. Hectic SCHEDULES replaced by NAPS, REST, and RELAXATION. The AIR seems CLEANER. The WORLD quieter. PEOPLE are conscious about HYGIENE and HEALTH. MONEY doesn't seem to make the WORLD GO ROUND anymore. DOCTORS AND NURSES are being praised and recognized instead of athletes and celebrities. And WE now have TIME, finally, to STOP and SMELL the ROSES. ..The positive side above all!! PS I'm pretty sure this was God's way of telling us to slow down and stop destroying his world......... #reposted #copypaste
07.01.2022 Funny but in some ways too true! (Ange R Thursday - relate?!)
