22.01.2022 Monday morning in the studio Hoping to get these two paintings finished as soon as possible ~ the poor fava beans have shrivelled and the apricots are already well past their plump prime!

15.01.2022 The design for the new gallery brochure has been finalised and it looks dashing! Kim from Designscope has done a super job balancing quite a lot of content into the confined space of a trifold DL layout. I felt it was important for the brochure to tell as much of a story as possible simply because it’s the thing that will be circulating out there in the world as a kind of advert on behalf of my art. It’s condensed yet succinct, and the images we chose, plus the way Kim us...ed them in the layout, makes for an effortless tour through the information. Looking forward to sharing them with you when they come back from the printer. Note our it girl is looking perfectly alluring there on the front cover. Thanks again for helping me choosing her

12.01.2022 First day back in the studio for a while and I hate to say it, I’m so out of practice! The last time I painted a still life was August last year. ‘Keeping it loose / keeping it real’ was my motto today, and it turned out to be a really good exercise in letting go of expectation and just enjoying the energy of applying unrefined brushstrokes (hard for a perfectionist to do ) Bit annoyed with those lovely broad bean leaves though, mucking up the composition because they kept ...wilting the moment they were picked from my garden (hence the multitude of scattered foliage!) So I just left them out See more
