18.01.2022 2020 marks 75 years since the passing of Hubert Harry Robbins, the namesake of Robbins Lane. The Sydney gentleman purchased Catherine Park House in 1939 and was responsible for several alterations to the grand homestead, including its conversion from the Victorian Italianate style to the Georgian Revival style. He also constructed the driveway that led from Oran Park Drive directly to the house, which will forever be immortalised as Robbins Lane.

06.01.2022 Our streets are proudly named after prominent Australians. Professor Yvonne Edna Cossart, AO is the namesake for Cossart Loop. She was a virologist and clinical pathologist who became a world pioneer in infectious diseases. She famously discovered the B19 virus and made significant headway in enterovirus, poliomyelitis, parvovirus, smallpox, rabies, human papilloma viruses and hepatitis. Her birthday was 14 August, and she would have turned 86 today.

06.01.2022 The Dharawal Aboriginal people first inhabited whats now known as Camden and its surrounds. In their traditional calendar, September-October was known as Murrai'yunggory, when it was still cool, but getting warmer. The magical flying foxes were the symbol of this time, gathering after sunset and dancing in the sky before heading south to feed in the dark. The bright red Miwa Gawaian (Telopea speciosissima) was also first spotted during Murrai'yunggory.

Cups of steaming soup warmed hands and hearts, and Catherine Park House looked on proudly at her growing family. Our 2019 Winter Warmer was such a memorable night. Fingers crossed for an even bigger and better event in 2021.
