This one features two sapphires set in the ripple engraving and with a delightfully soft matte finish. This one was a special order...I can make one to your specifications too! 21.01.2022 [ retipping ] Over years of wear the claws on your ring will naturally wear down and the claws hold the stones in so they're kind of important! As you can see on this ring the claws were pretty much gone. Retipping is replacing the claws with new metal (thats the ugly photo) and then making them look like new.... I recommend getting your rings professionally cleaned and checked at least every 12 months. When was the last time you had your rings checked? 21.01.2022 [ sweet little stacker ] Recent remodel of some o f my clients old jewellery. Swipe for the before shot...there was only one stone worth using from the old rings. The design brief was "something flowery to go with my leaves" (you can see the leaf ring in my earlier in my feed). Would you wear stacking rings?

13.01.2022 [ petite parti ] These little studs were supposed to be set with emeralds...but I broke one while I was setting it Never mind. I did a pivot and found a mismatched pair of parti sapphires in a parcel of sapphs I bought many years ago and put them in instead.... 12.01.2022 [ sapph-tember ] The birth stone for September is sapphire, so it's pretty fitting that this rough sapphire Bowerbird's Nest ring became a birthday present this week. If you'd like your own version of this ring I have various pieces of rough gems on hand in the workshop including sapphire, iolite and zircon. 08.01.2022 [ the wedding set ] A recent remodel which arrived safely with my client this week. This 18ct yellow gold ring is handmade from my clients engagement ring, wedding ring and a passed down heirloom (swipe to see what they looked like before).... This is recycling at it's best. Reusing gold and stones. Keeping the heritage and stories but having them made to really suit you and to be given stories of their own. Do you have treasures which hold heaps of sentiment but just don't suit you? I love bringing out a design which will be just for you. 07.01.2022 [ resurrection work ] Well loved and frequently worn jewellery gets...well...worn. It's just a fact. This necklace needed the jump rings which connect the diamonds to the chain replaced. The gold was drawn down into fine wire, coiled up and then cut into jump rings. All the worn links were replaced and then soldered shut. A quick polish and it will be ready to go. ... Do you have items which you wear every day? When was the last time you had them checked? Please feel free to come in and have your jewellery checked. 04.01.2022 [ masterpiece ] This hinged bangle is easily the most ambitious, time consuming, and elaborate piece I've ever made. It is completely handmade including the box and tongue clasp and hinges. The moving parts are particularly scary/tricky for me as they are not things which you make every day and require real precision. The world's most patient client waited and waited and it was finally delivered a few weeks ago.

03.01.2022 [ same but different ] A recent remodel. The center stone was badly chipped and scratched so I sent it to Scott @langford_gems who masterfully re-polished it. The ring was very top heavy and was tapered at the back. This, combined with large knuckles, meant it always spun around.... The new ring is a tad wider with no taper and almost the same thickness all around. It has the essence of the original but a more suitable design for my client. These kind of jobs are up there as my faves. Would you make your remodel completely different or same different? See more

Clasically with the point at the top; with the point at the bottom; oriented sideways; offcenter like the first picture. I like that it looks a bit like an arrow guiding the way, whichever direction it faces...keep going forward.

03.01.2022 [ garden ] Happiness is: when you make something good out of your mistake. I accidentally ordered the wrong thing from the metal merchant, so I made it into this. Sterling silver bangle, roller embossed with a flowers and leaves pattern which has been oxidised (blackened) in the recesses. 12mm wide and with an internal diameter suitable for a larger frame.
