13.01.2022 A snippet NAIDOC2020 // I mentioned in a previous post I was fortunate to be spending NAIDOC Week across several countries. Today I proudly stand on Larrakia land. I was invited to CatholicCare NT’s NAIDOC week celebrations where I met Lily and Rachel from Elcho Clothing, who was weaving these stunning baskets and mats. Elcho clothing currently is running programs for Youth suicide awareness through remote aboriginal communities in Arnhemland through fashion & reconnecting ...them to Elders and the appropriate Services. Their work is incredibly important, and their skill is exceptional. Check them out on Facebook: Elcho Clothing @ntcatholicyouth #alwayswasalwayswillbe #naidoc2020 #elchoclothing #larrakialand

11.01.2022 How are you? is a very common conversation starter, but often we ask without meaning it. Next time you ask someone how they are, ask it with intention. Make eye contact when you ask, and if you sense something might be off ask again. #catholiccarent

05.01.2022 Here are some practical tips for supporting children with aggressive behavior. This can be frustrating and difficult to handle but it’s our job to help them! Often times, these behaviors stem from pent up emotion and energy. Instead of shaming them, we need to place more importance on helpings these children identify and handle their aggression. #catholiccarent

02.01.2022 Christmas Good News Story: We are so happy to have helped this mum and bub get home to community for Christmas, unexpected complications including a premature birth meant they needed to come to Darwin. Our super Early Childhood Educator Case Manager, Melissa walked beside our mum-to-be for the last few weeks of her pregnancy, and then post birth. This photo was their last adventure together before this healthy mum and baby headed back to her community and family. We wish them all the best and we are so excited that they are able to spend Christmas with their family. #earlychildhoodeducation #supportingmothers #weloveourwork #healthyandhappy #communitychristmas #crocodilesmile
02.01.2022 Just because someone looks rich, doesn’t mean they’re being responsible with their money. Try to focus only on yourself and your own finances, comparison won’t serve you any good! If you need assistance with managing your finances, please get in touch with our financial well-being team! #catholiccarent
