23.01.2022 It’s been a hard year for many. We want to ensure everyone has a gift under the tree this Christmas. Please donate to CatholicCare’s Christmas Giving Appeal. Your generosity will help to support young people & adults experiencing homelessness, families escaping domestic violence, individuals & families who are facing financial hardship & other life challenges, young people in out-of-home care, and migrant and refugee families in need of support. Donate to any CatholicCare office by DECEMBER 16, 2020. Check website for location details and call 0437 955 928 for alternative arrangements
21.01.2022 Sr Philippa developed new family services offerings with us from 1973. She was widely respected for her community consultation, leading a small yet effective team. This year we reflect on 60 years of service for Tasmanians. Today, many of our long-serving staff remember working with Sr Philippa and admire her pioneering spirit.
20.01.2022 On Wednesday, we shared a short video featuring a snippet of our claymation project. Claymation allows our clients to share their experiences with us whilst protecting their privacy, covering themes such as what to expect at your first appointment. Our clients featured in Wednesday's video generously shared their first-hand experience with our Family Services team. Appointments for family counselling can be made via our website. People first for 60 years.
19.01.2022 We asked children and young people in the CatholicCare community to share with us what Christmas means to them using the themes of love, hope and compassion. Congratulations to these wonderful young artists who prepared such colourful and beautiful work. All of these images will appear on the inside cover of this year’s CatholicCare Christmas Card. Great work Arthur, Emily and Emilia.
16.01.2022 According to our CEO, Andrew Hill, whilst this pandemic year has delivered rapid change, it hasn't changed our staffing numbers. This means all 400+ staff and volunteers are delivering community services across Tasmania. We have evolved from home and centre-based care to now adding phone and virtual services to the mix. We're here for your family, your friends, and we're here for you. People first for 60 years.
15.01.2022 In the last year, CatholicCare housed 482 people who were on the Housing Connect waiting list in Tasmania. Over four thousand people are living in homes managed by CatholicCare’s partnership housing organisation, Centacare Evolve Housing.
14.01.2022 CatholicCare Tasmania is responding to Tasmania's need for more social and affordable housing. 55 two-bedroom dwellings have been completed ahead of schedule, which means more Tasmanians in need can move off the waiting list and into homes. People first for 60 years.
