21.01.2022 From 1am Saturday 13 February, the Queensland Government declared specific LGAs within Victoria as COVID hotspots. The full list of these affected areas is here.... I am returning from Victoria. What do I do? People who have been to the identified hotspots since the 7th February will only be able to enter Queensland if they are a returning Queensland resident or required to enter for a limited range of essential reasons. Queensland residents returning to Queensland from these areas must quarantine for 14 days on entering Queensland in government arranged accommodation at their own expense. I have already returned recently from a hotspot, what do I do? If you have been directed By Public Health to self-quarantine at home until you get a negative test, you may return to school or work after receiving this negative test result. If you have been directed by Public Health to quarantine at home for 14 days, you must do so immediately, regardless of any test result. Home quarantine means staying in your home for 14 days and not leaving unless it is to get essential medical care or supplies, to avoid injury or illness, or to escape a risk of harm. Guidance on home quarantine may be found here. Someone within my household has to quarantine for 14 days, what do I do? Unless you have been directed to quarantine by Public Health, there is no need for you to quarantine, even if people within your household are under a quarantine directive. The guidance below from Qld Health here should be followed. The person under the quarantine order should: stay in your own room use a separate bathroom if possible, or clean the bathroom each time you use it stay at least 1.5 metres away from others avoid common areas wear a mask when moving through shared spaces in the house wear a mask when in the same room as others avoid preparing food for other people in the household avoid sharing household items clean the house regularly, especially things people touch often like door handles maintain good hygiene practices like washing hands regularly, avoiding touching your face (or others’ faces) and covering coughs and sneezes wash shared sheets often, using soap or detergent. Everyone in the household should: practice good hand and respiratory hygiene practice social distancing avoid sharing household items monitor their health and call 134 COVID (13 42 68) if they develop any COVID-19 symptoms For everyone else: The worsening situation in Victoria reminds us that the pandemic is not yet over. Remember, to prevent the spread of COVID-19: Stay home if you are sick If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, get tested Stay 1.5 metres away from other peoplethink two big steps Wash your hands with soap and water, or hand sanitiser Leave a location if it is crowded.

19.01.2022 Take a moment to reflect. 16.01.2022 The very talented Sister Jane Maisey drew this image for the 2020 Christmas season. She said: "I hope this image connects persons, revealing our God is our neighbour and I am neighbour. The composition grew from having had an image of Joseph stuck in my head; walking with Mary, stopping, hobbling on one leg to get a stone out of his shoe, waiting, leaning on Mary and gazing at Jesus. Steeped in the ordinary - they walked as we walk." How will you walk during this Christmas period? Check out Sr Jane's page here: designjane.com

14.01.2022 At 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month each year we remember the moment in 1918 when World War I came to an end. Our schools will pause today as we honour the memory of those who have laid down their lives for Australia. We wear a poppy as a symbol of remembrance, as they were part of the landscapes of the War.... #lestweforget #wewillrememberthem #remembranceday : Australian War Memorial
