25.01.2022 Next year's Reception students from St Anthonys School continued their ‘Little Ants’ transition program via Microsoft Teams during last weeks lockdown. This ensured the children could maintain their sense of connection and belonging to the school ahead of Term 1. This is just one example of the amazing resilience and flexibility that young people have displayed throughout this year during the COVID-19 pandemic.

23.01.2022 Exciting news for the Riverland! A site has been named for the proposed new St Francis of Assisi College, set to open at Renmark in 2022. The College will open with Year 7 and 8 in 2022 and welcome a new year level annually until it expands to Year 7 to 12 by 2026.

23.01.2022 The winning student projects have been announced in the 2020 ‘STEM XR Challenge’, a joint initiative between Catholic Education SA and Adelaide-based Lumination. One project from St Paul's College is cleaning up a local polluted creek.



23.01.2022 Catholic Schools in SA continue to participate in various activities to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2020. The Gleeson College Year 11 Sports Studies Class are hosting traditional Indigenous games (Kalq, Millim Baeyeetch, Ilye, Keentan and Battendi). There are language reading lessons and learning activities, the opportunity to explore native bushfoods in Food & Hospitality and Home Ec (Indigenous superfoods) and students are checking out authentic Aboriginal artefacts. #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe

23.01.2022 Three Catholic Schools will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday November 17). They are: Mt Carmel College, Rosewater Thomas More College, Salisbury Downs Holy Family Catholic School, Parafield Gardens (including the co-located Alive Catholic Early Learning Centre) ... Catholic Education SA is working closely with SA Health and the Department for Education. Parents with students at these schools have been notified. We will continue to update school families as further information becomes available.

Archbishop Patrick O’Regan celebrated Mass at Queen of Angels Church. What a special opportunity to prayerfully bless and commission our work together!

20.01.2022 Holy Family Catholic School, Parafield Gardens (including the co-located Alive Catholic Early Learning Centre) will close at the end of today (November 16 2020) due to a student being a close contact of a confirmed case of COVID-19. Both the school and the Early Learning Centre will be closed until further notice. Thomas More College will also remain closed. Catholic Education SA is working closely with SA Health and the Department for Education. More information will be made available to parents and students as soon as we are able.

14.01.2022 We warmly congratulate Salvatorian priest Karol Kulczycki who was ordained a bishop for the Diocese of Port Pirie last night in Poland. The service was conducted in English and live streamed on Polish Catholic television and the Bishop was ordained by Archbishop Adolfo Tito Yllana (Philippines prelate and Apostolic Nuncio to Australia). Bishop Greg O’Kelly SJ said the Diocese welcomed with great joy its new bishop - The people of God, along with myself, have been waiting more than four years for this appointment, so you can imagine the joy at the news, he said.

13.01.2022 The Premier of South Australia has announced a 6-day statewide lockdown commencing midnight Wednesday 18 November 2020. For the next two days 19 and 20 November all Catholic Schools will be closed except for care of the children of essential workers. These are school closure days and, as such, no online learning will be provided.... A small number of staff will be at each school site to provide supervised care to any family who requires this essential service. Schools will remain closed in the week commencing 23 November except for the care of children of essential workers. 09.01.2022 Supercar Driver (and old scholar) Nick Percat recently delighted students with a visit to School of the Nativity. Year 3-7 students asked Nick about his racing career, his car and his time at the school. Nick said he had strong memories of his education at Nativity and spoke of being positively encouraged by his teachers to follow his dream of becoming a race car driver... seems like that worked out!

06.01.2022 Congratulations to the Nazareth Catholic Community their Early Learning Centre was recently given an excellent rating. It’s the highest rating a centre can get and only 8 other centres in SA have been given this rating by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority. Simply EXCELLENT!

Kelly Bunyon will lead the school which will support the wellbeing, needs and aspirations of young people aged 17-24 and their families in the Playford area by providing new opportunities for learning, work and community participation.

02.01.2022 Seeing double?!? Yes you are! St Mary's College staff used their creativity to solve COVID-19 restrictions at their graduation ceremony at the Convention Centre last week. With no shaking hands allowed or photos with the principal they improvised and created a corflute identical twin of Principal, Clare Nocka! 10/10 for creativity!

02.01.2022 Isabella, a Year 2 student at St Mary's College, has been announced the winner of the 2021 Schools Poster Competition for the Adelaide Fringe! Isabella's beautiful design was one of 311 entries in the competition - that had participants from Years 1 to 10. Her artwork is inspired by the lights and colours of the Adelaide Fringe and shows a performer on stage. Isn't it amazing!?!
