21.01.2022 Day for Daniel is a national day of action for child safety education, where Australia unites to raise awareness for child protection and harm prevention. This morning Tasmanian Catholic Education Office staff joined the Daniel Morcombe Foundation in remembering Daniel, and raising funds to support the Foundation to empower children to Recognise, React, Report if they ever feel unsafe. #dayfordaniel

20.01.2022 Senator Jonathon Duniam visited one of Catholic Education Tasmania's early learning centre project schools yesterday to learn first hand about the early learning opportunities we are creating for Tasmanian children aged 3-5 years. CET Principal Marcus Donnelly showed Senator Duniam the plans for the landscaping at St Cuthbert's Catholic School developed in collaboration with Hobart based landscape architects Playstreet. Work has already commenced across some of our project school sites so stay tuned for updates as this exciting venture progresses!

19.01.2022 Catholic Education Tasmania, the Department of Education and Independent Schools Tasmania have collaborated and developed a survey to seek feedback from parents regarding the impact of students with disability learning from home during Term Two 2020. We are seeking information from key stakeholders concerning experiences of students in Tasmania. The information gained allows CET to better understand and respond for any future L@H circumstances. 11.01.2022 Responding to the needs of others is something we strive for as a Catholic education community. This coming Saturday Jason Perry, Deputy Principal at St Anthony's Catholic Primary School, will be putting this into action by raising money to support the work of the Ruby Red Foundation. Running a 102km loop of Launceston using the Launceston Urban Fringe Trail, Jason will be supported along the way by his colleagues Our Lady of Mercy Deputy Principal Nic Saltmarsh and Star of... the Sea Deputy Principal Damien Taylor who will be joining him for sections of the run. 02.01.2022 Catholic Education Tasmania's 16,000 students will benefit from free educational excursions as part of the Tasmanian Government's school excursion voucher scheme. CET welcomes the opportunities the scheme will provide to our students after a challenging start to the year. Students will have access to a range of Tasmania's tourism destinations, parks and facilities to deepen their learning through hands-on experiences. The scheme will provide students with a welcome respite from the recent educational and outdoor restrictions, and will support Tasmanian tourism, parks and heritage sites at a time when they need it most.

02.01.2022 In what is wonderful news for students, Public Health has advised that formals and celebration dinners will be able to go ahead with dancing allowed on school sites. Dancing will also be permitted at off-site venues provided that events held off-site comply with that venue’s COVID safety plan and the current public health directions.
