25.01.2022 Congratulations Fr Chathura on your 30th birthday! Wishing you every blessing and best wish.

25.01.2022 This week is National Vocations Awareness Week - a week for the entire Church to consider, support and pray for those searching for their vocations in life. We might think about and pray for the young people in our community and in our families this week especially. In prayer, ask the Lord to enlighten them and give them the grace and courage to respond to His call. The Lord calls each of us to a particular vocation (marriage, consecrated life, priesthood or a single life of service). https://hobart.catholic.org.au/faith/vocations #NationalVocationsAwarenessWeek #NVAW #vocation #vocations #ReligiousLife #religious

22.01.2022 Here is this weekend’s bulletin. The priests have just finished their retreat together at the Emmanuel Centre. It was a great week and thanks for your prayerful support. Hopefully, on the first Sunday of Advent, 29th November, we will be able to start back with the 10.30am Sunday Mass at the Church of the Apostles. We need a band of Volunteers to be welcomers to check names and contact details as people come into Mass as well as people to assist with cleaning the Church after Mass. Without this support it will not be possible to recommence the 10.30am Mass. If you are able to commit to this important task could you contact the parish office (6331 4377)? Also, the Sunday evening Mass at the Apostles will be celebrated at 6.30pm form Sunday, 29th November. Every best wish and blessing, Fr Mark

22.01.2022 Congratulations to Fr Ben Brooks on the 1st Anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood. We pray for him as he continues to deepen his love for the Lord through his commitment as a priest.

21.01.2022 Here this week’s Parish Bulletin. Fr Crisanto has provided the reflection and there are some notices of interest - Dining With Friends is starting up again and there is a local screening of the topical documentary, Fatal Flaws. Every blessing and best wish,

21.01.2022 As we begin this time of Advent and enter into our preparation for the feast of Christmas, this short clip helps explain why the experience of waiting, hope, and preparation is still so important in our lives today. https://youtu.be/eC0FGQLBp7w

20.01.2022 Here is this week’s Parish Bulletin. Fr Chathura has provided the reflection. In my letter to the parish family I have reflected on Mike Gaffney’s End-of-Life Choices (Voluntary Assisted Dying) Bill 2020, which will be introduced to Parliament this coming Thursday. An effective way to express your concerns and opposition is by writing to your members of Parliament. Some simple instructions on how to do this are included in my letter. I will also post a letter writing guide from the Live & Die Well coalition, with which the Catholic Church in Tasmania is associated. Every blessing to all.

16.01.2022 On this day in 1986, Pope St John Paul II visited Tasmania and celebrated Mass for over 10,000 people at Elwick Racecourse. Over 35,000 Tasmanians caught a glimpse of the Pope in the few hours he was here. Do you remember the occasion? Can you spot any familiar faces in this telecast? https://youtu.be/xtLt_BJqnxw

Amen. - Catholic Prayer: Book of Blessing Happy Father's Day! #fathersday #catholic #Launceston

06.01.2022 Today is Social Justice Sunday. Read the Social Justice Statement "To Live Life to the Full: Mental health in Australia today": https://socialjustice.catholic.org.au//social-justice-sta/ The Bishops observe that our society tends to draw away from, or to push away, those who confront us with our frailties and limitations which is completely at odds with the story of Jesus who takes on the frailty of the human condition and draws near to those who are sick or who have disabilities, those who are marginalized or despised. People living with mental ill-health are part of the Body of Christ ‘us’ and not ‘them’ and share equally in Jesus’ promise of the fullness of life (Jn 10:10). https://youtu.be/E307Gv_RfeQ #SocialJusticeSunday #Catholic #Launceston
