We chat about Fertility Awareness Based Methods (FABM's), and how we can encourage and support couples in living out the Church's beautiful teachings in this area. ... Some resources Mikayla mentioned that may be helpful if you are seeking more information or support: Australian Catholic Marriage & Family Council (an advisory to Australian Catholic Bishops) https://www.acmfc.org.au/tag/natural-family-planning/ Ministry to the Newly Married - Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn https://cgcatholic.org.au///ministry-to-the-newly-married/ United States Catholic Conference of Bishops - http://www.usccb.org//marriage-an/natural-family-planning/ If there is a great resource that can support Catholic couples, please share it in the comments below! 20.01.2022 Today is the Feast day of St Monica - mother of St Augustine of Hippo. She prayed without ceasing for the conversion of her son, and he went on to become a Doctor of the Church. One bishop, whose counsel Monica sought, advised her not to worry, assuring her that it is impossible that a son of so many tears should be lost. We also love this blog from Blessed Is She reflecting on other Saints who were also mothers https://blessedisshe.net/blog/saints-moms/
17.01.2022 This weekend, Pope Francis will present Melbourne-based theologian Professor Tracey Rowland with the Ratzinger Prize for Theology. She is the first Australian a...nd third woman to have won this prize. Having written extensively on the theology of culture, Professor Rowland says the biggest challenge the Church faces today is explaining to younger generations the difference between secular humanism and Christianity: 'As Ratzinger [Pope Benedict XVI] would say, Christianity is not a moralism. It is not, fundamentally at least, a moral code. It is about having a personal relationship with the Holy Trinity.' Read more: https://melbournecatholic.org/tracey-rowland

13.01.2022 This week the USCCB have encouraged Catholics in America to celebrate 'National Family Planning Week' which made us reflect on a wonderful NFP model that is Australian in its origins - the Billings Method. The Billings Ovulation Method was first discovered by Dr John Billings of Melbourne in 1953. He was joined in this work by his wife, Dr Evelyn Billings, and together they travelled the world teaching their method. It is now taught and successfully used by couples in over 1...00 countries around the world. The Billings Ovulation Method is used by women at all stages of their reproductive lives to achieve pregnancy, to prevent pregnancy and to safeguard their reproductive health. We thank them for the pioneering work in this space! To learn more about various NFP methods, listen to our recent Women of Faith interview from Mikayala Dalton https://www.facebook.com/CatholicWomensMentoring/videos/705967353528907

And in this current climate, where the most precious unfolding of souls is not always sheltered but rather under threat, we call upon her intercession. St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, pray for us
