19.01.2022 I think today was significant. First time Barossa council meeting was livestreamed from our homes via YouTube. Have a look at what we do. How our meetings work. What decisions are being made. This channel has all of our meetings. Take a peep and become more engaged with Local Government. I think it is great.

17.01.2022 Hi all, Please read this post carefully, hear the heart behind this emotive decision (please please know we genuinely struggled as well) remind yourself all Elected Members live in The Valley, most have children who swam or they themselves swam in the Nuri pool. Chamber (Staff and Elected Members) and myself personally have honestly grappled with this decision for over 2 years,. We HAVE spent hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of thousands on upkeep on Nuri Pool over the pas...t years and do not want to spend YOUR money on infrastructure that will be destroyed in a flood zone in coming years. This is not good stewardship of community money...... we want to come up with a new plan!! We are eager for an exciting new Aquatic area, in a better place, that will not require the enormous upkeep that our 70 year old structure has (lifetime of these kinds of pools is 50 years maximum). Heartbreaking yes but balanced with practicality. We are listening to what you want, but please listen to our logic about the old area and pool....old pipes, leaking pool, unfix-able tiling, breaking pumps. All in a zone that is Flood prone. It is 70 years old! We want to honour the memory of the old and beautifully represent it in a memorial, but press towards a more practical solution. I would encourage you to read the minutes and watch the meeting online (see links in comments). See the struggle we have had. We are responsible for millions of dollars of your money, help us be wise and spend it on new infrastructure in a safe non flood prone zone. Write to me, petition the Council (see Link in comments) and let us know, but please do not think we have not agonised over this. Other councils would have closed it 10 plus years ago. In all sincerity, Serving you, Cathy
