25.01.2022 Did you know that biting, nipping, jumping up, toileting in the house etc doesnt have to be part of puppyhood? Training a calm, well mannered puppy isnt hard, you just need to know how to do it. It is well worth investing in your puppy now so you have a great family dog for the next 15 years or so. #causeandeffectdogtrainingtoowoomba #puppyboardandtrain #puppyclassesdarlingdowns... #dogtrainingtoowoombaandsurrounds See more

21.01.2022 Lotties favourite thing??? It’s a toss up between food and the blow dryer

21.01.2022 Gorgeous little Miss Heidi is so lucky to have a dedicated and loving owner wanting to learn how to ensure this little (soon to be big) lady grows up to be a calm, balanced and well behaved family member. #causeandeffectpuppytraining #puppyboardandtrain #puppyclasses

20.01.2022 This is Miss Ellie. Ellie is a rescue dog and has the most beautiful nature. However, she does have some confidence issues and gets into some mischief when outside so we are working with her and her wonderful family to help her live her best life. Ellie gets regular exercise but many people don’t realise the importance of mental stimulation. After her lesson she definitely needed some down time. #causeandeffectdogtrainingtoowoomba #puppytrainingtips #dogtraining

19.01.2022 Bonnie is a beautiful black shepherd, but to take her for a walk was almost impossible. With some clear communication and the right tools, she is beginning to be able to walk with her owners so everyone enjoys the walk.

19.01.2022 There isnt something right about this puppy in the window

18.01.2022 Very proud of my Lottie Rottie today. We were asked by a friend to help with abit of a photo shoot and despite being taken by surprise and jumped on by an over friendly collie who slipped his collar, she remained the perfect lady, remaining calm, engaged and relaxed while taking everything in her stride. Strange environment, new people, new dog, cameras close up and moving around her.

18.01.2022 Did you know kibble as a whole isnt designed as a health food and those fancy images on the bag are often ...misleading? For example, your dog isnt getting an expensive cut of Lamb chop with a sprig of rosemary and a sprinkle of celtic sea salt. Whilst prescription formulas do exist for the likes of joint disease, skin issues and so-forth, the ingredients these kibbles contain are highly disputed by the fresh food community for in-fact not promoting overall health and well-being. Did you know there are no life time studies on the safety and relative health of dogs on kibble based diets? Did you know some kibbles may only be around 25% meat and I want to use the term "meat" loosely - and that some of these kibbles may be over $100 a bag? Did you know that pet parents could feeding their dog a mostly vegetarian diet if their kibble contains more plant matter than meat? Did you know that just because meat appears as the first ingredient that it doesnt mean the formula is mostly meat? All it means is that by weight BEFORE COOKING (so including moisture weight) that the meat weighs more than the other individual ingredients BUT when those individual ingredients are all added together they most likely weigh more than the meat. Did you know that even some of the most expensive kibbles on the market could be mostly vegetarian (more plant than meat)? Did you know that the nutrients in kibble can be so degraded because theyve been heat treated around 4 times that they have to add a mix of synthetic nutrients to "balance" it and these synthetic nutrients are not recognised by the body in the same way as whole food nutrients so therefore are not utalised in the same way which may lead to excesses and deficiencies. Did you know that some kibble companies sometimes warn pet parents off from feeding raw foods because of salmonella yet thousands and thousands of kilos of kibble are re-called every year because of salmonella? Did you know that kibble has only been around for a short time and dogs have lived for 10s of thousands of years without it? Did you know that the fats in kibbles can go rancid as they are sensitive to light and heat and consuming rancid fats is not healthy? Did you know that dogs these days are getting cancer earlier and dying younger and studies have found that around 90% of cancer is not genetic, that it is in-fact lifestyle which includes nutrition...youve heard the term "you are what you eat" right? Did you know kibble fed dogs can live in a constant state of dehydration because kibble only contains around 10% moisture vs 70% in raw fed dogs. Did you know raw fed dogs do not visit the water bowl much because they get their hydration from their food? Did you know that poo shouldnt be huge and stink and that when people transition to a fresh food diet this is the first thing they come to learn when they see smaller healthier poos that dont stink. Did you know know that dogs were perfectly created by Mother Nature to eat a raw diet with their short digestive tract and the right bacteria types to manage this kind of diet? Did you know that kibble fed dogs have been found to have less diversity in their gut flora vs raw fed dogs. Did you know that gut health relates to mental and physical health? Did you know that dogs do not require a complete and balanced formula at every meal and that animals that eat a varied diet including the healthiest humans balance over time by eating a variety of nutrients on rotation (if that is what is species appropriate) just like Mother Nature intended? Did you know kibble medically harms and kills dogs every year i.e. Advances Megaesophagus and Hills Vit D excess...just 2 examples in recent times and thats not even addressing all the owner-reported cases relating to Woolworths Baxters brand. Did you know there are no recall regulations in Australia when pet food goes wrong? Did you know some kibble companies such as Royal Canin and Hills Science Diet pay big money to Universities to get access to student Veterinarians so their conditioning to kibble starts early? Did you know that the carbohydrate percentage in kibble is commonly between 20-50% of the formula yet the dogs natural diet is around 6% carbs. Did you know that the body breaks down or converts most carbohydrates into the SUGAR glucose? And if your dogs kibble is around 20-50% carbs thats a tad shocking. Glucose is absorbed into the bloodstream, and with the help of a hormone called insulin it travels into the cells of the body where it can be used for energy. Kibble companies use carbs as CHEAP energy vs using quality energy sources such as fat. If a dog isnt able to utalise all this "energy" then it will lead them to be fat. Did you know that all these carbs can lead to inflammation in the body and inflammation is the precursor to disease? Heat mapping of pet diets has been analysed by an overseas university. They are what they eat... Did you know some kibble companies sponsor highly successful show dogs and performance dog teams so people have the false belief that the success comes from the dogs diet? Did you know that many of these sponsored teams want the sponsorship because it makes them look good i.e. to be worthy of sponsorship but some actually do not feed that food? These days, to be sponsored by a kibble company imo is like being sponsored by a cigarette company. When we know better, we do better. Join the fresh food movement, you can start by simply reducing your dogs kibble and adding real food or start your transition to a fresh food diet. We will show you how to balance your dogs diet without a science degree. https://www.facebook.com/groups/rawandfresh/ ---- Raw Feeding Veterinary Society https://rfvs.info/ Dog Risk Project https://www.helsinki.fi//dogrisk-healt/research-by-dogrisk The Science of Raw Feeding https://www.rawessentials.co.nz//the-science-behind-raw-fe A Skeptics Guide to Raw Food http://holisticvet.co.uk/index.php/articles/ ---- Photo: Comical out take by Ruthless photos & commissioned by Antinol Australia as part of a commercial shoot.

18.01.2022 Hope you had a great International Dog Day with your furry family members.

17.01.2022 Had another great session with this not to little guy this week. Sunny so enjoys his training and has already visited school and lent a paw. #causeandeffectdogtrainingtoowoomba #therapydog #puppytraining

17.01.2022 Kit had his first visit to Bunnings and nailed it.

15.01.2022 Bonnie did not get the best start to life, coming from a puppy farm but lucky for her, her new owner asked us to help build this little ladies confidence, show her how to walk on a loose lead, and the benefits of coming when she is called. Shes a great little dog who is well on the way to a great life. #causeandeffectdogtrainingtoowoomba #puppytrainingtoowoomba #dogbehaviourhelp... #puppyboardandtrain See more

13.01.2022 Getting your new puppy off to the best start is so important. It can literally shape the rest of his life....and yours as well. Little Rocket is one of those lucky babies whose family asked for a hand to set him up for his best life. #puppytrainingtoowoomba #puppyboardandtrain #causeandeffectdogtrainingtoowoomba

13.01.2022 It is so important to give your puppy the very best start that you can. Teaching house manners as well as basic commands right from the start will set him up for life. I offer 2 options - in home consultations with ongoing support and a board and train option in my home. If you find it difficult to find time to crate and toilet train, socialise and start the basic training, board and train could be the answer for you.

12.01.2022 This is so true. Genetics and early pre 8 weeks old enrichment and stimulation play major roles in how your puppy engages and relates to the world. Before settling on a puppy, look closely at its genetics - what has it been bred for. Even cross breeds will have certain traits that are more dominant than others so it pays to try and find out what is in your puppy/dog.

12.01.2022 So very true. Any one can punish a dog to stop a behaviour. Thats not training. Training is about understanding why a dog is doing what he is and changing his perception to bring about permanent change. This is not done in one lesson.

10.01.2022 Lottie drew the short straw for baby sitting duties last night.

10.01.2022 My next Virtual Puppy Class is now open. You dont need to leave home to train your puppy. We cover everything to do with puppies, from bringing him home, diet, handling, training, socialising, how to handle biting, nipping, jumping up etc, teaching calmness and everything else you need to know to have a calm and happy companion. The 5 week course is held in a private Facebook group, we have a live feed every week which can be watched whenever you want, handout information sheets, videos and you can even post your own videos for help. Cost is $150. Starting Sunday the 16th August. Just PM me for details.

10.01.2022 Young Sunny is only 4 months old...but look at those feet. He’s super smart and has been learning the basics of being a good boy so he can help his mum at the school where she works. #causeandeffectdogtrainingtoowoomba #therapydog #puppytraining

08.01.2022 Billy is a maremma x cattle dog puppy. With the genetic traits of these breeds, it’s important that he learns clear communication to listen to his human family, how to control his impulses and continue his socialisation and exposure to different environments, situations and circumstances. He’s a clever, not so little guy. #dogtraining #causeandeffectdogtrainingtoowoomba #dogtrainingtips

08.01.2022 We visited Bill and his family recently to teach the older dog some new tricks. Not really new tricks, but some clear communication to make life more enjoyable for everyone. Bill was super keen to start the learning process. #causeandeffectdogtraining #dogtrainingadvice

07.01.2022 Hope is training to become a therapy dog and we visited her to brush up on a few behaviours she will need to fulfil her role. Such a beautiful girl who worked hard to earn her sleep.

07.01.2022 Beautiful Maggie is currently in our board and train program for help after she was attacked by an off lead dog. When she came in, she was very stressed and would growl and react in the presence of other dogs. It’s early days but she has come a long way. She is learning to put her trust in me when we come across strange dogs and my dogs are showing her that she doesn’t need to worry around them. It is so interesting watching dogs help other dogs. #causeandeffectdogtrainingtoowoomba #dogtraining

07.01.2022 Miss Scout has joined us for 1 months training in our puppy development program. Getting off to a great start will pave the way for her success as a Storybook dog at school. Beautiful Scout is from Belloui Labradoodles who put in enormous work to breed outstanding puppies in type and temperament. #puppytrainingtoowoomba #therapydogtraining #dogtrainingtoowoomba

06.01.2022 I love it when puppy people contact me to learn the best way to raise their little bundle of fur. Chewing, biting, barking, weeing everywhere, isnt something we have to "get through". Giving your puppy clear boundaries, lots of positive experiences and doing it in a way that he loves, is key. Little Monty is rockin his early puppy development after a recent session at his home. #puppytoilettraining #puppyclasses #puppytrainingtips #causeandeffectdogtrainingtoowoomba

06.01.2022 Little Bear is in his brand new home and has been having some problems settling in. With some guidance, advice, basic management and support for his new owner he will be a pleasure to live with very soon. #causeandeffectdogtraining #puppytraining #puppytoilettraining... #puppyboardandtrain See more

06.01.2022 Little Scout has also been very busy learning how to be calm and relaxed. Socialising isnt about meeting every person or dog around. Being calm and happy in all kinds of environments no matter whats going is super important, so when a puppy does meet other dogs and people, they can do it in an appropriate way. #bellouilabradoodles

04.01.2022 Genetics are fascinating and complex. Variations occur not only in genetic makeup but also in temperament and looks. This is why a breeder can never guarantee a certain temperament in every dog they breed, nor that genetic faults wont present at some stage, even generatiions down the line.

04.01.2022 Morning Everyone, With regards to the pup I was helping to rehome yesterday, I just want to state that I did not and was not making any innuendos regarding the breeder. I was simply helping out a client and posted from the information given to me. Thankyou everyone, the pup was rehomed.

04.01.2022 Our Puppy Development board and train program is great for owners with new puppies who are a little time poor, or you have a young dog who is developing not so great behaviours that you would like addressed before they get worse. Puppies live in my home, 24 hours a day. Limited spaces available for next month. #puppyboardandtrain #therapydogtraining #causeandeffectdogtraining #puppytraining

03.01.2022 Finally had some time to groom and a play around with my dogs. Theo has gone from labradoodle to almost poodle. Before and after. What do you think? I quite like it.

02.01.2022 Have a great day everyone!!

02.01.2022 Mintie is a working therapy dog. Her family recently relocated to Qld and after all the stress of lockdown in Victoria for the last few months, Mintie is having a well earned R and R with us. #therapydogtraining #puppyboardandtrain #causeandeffectdogtrainngtoowoomba

02.01.2022 A great visual on overweight dogs. Just like us, being overweight is not healthy and can cause disease, discomfort, pain and shorten their life span.

02.01.2022 Learning how to be a good puppy is soooo exhausting especially when youre this cute and smart! #puppyschool #puppyboardandtrain #causeandeffectdogtrainingtoowoomba

02.01.2022 Each month, we have a chat with Lee on Triple M Darling Downs. This month, we discussed therapy dogs-what they are, suitability for becoming a therapy dog, training and our special little puppy Kit who is currently with us for his 1 month development training. Enjoy!

01.01.2022 The number 1 of my dogs.
