19.01.2022 We know that many of you are searching for dogs and puppies to join your family. Far more so at the moment with so many finding themselves at home with more time. CKCSRQ along with other rescues and genuine breeders across the country are receiving far more enquiries than we can possibly hope to cater for at this point in time. Sadly the number of online scammers has also increased, taking full advantage of people that are desperate or rushing to find a puppy without thoroughly researching the breeder, their ethics and status. https://mypolice.qld.gov.au/moreton/2020/05/06/puppy-scam/

18.01.2022 Taking full advantage of the beautiful winter weather this weekend, we had some of the foster and rescue dogs attend a photo shoot for next years Calendar. 18.01.2022 MEGS UPDATE As requested, a few words from Megs foster Please remember that Megs is in long term foster care for continued rehabilitation and is not available to adopt.... Megs is also another of our dogs benefiting from the continued support offered by Antinol Australia to our rescue dogs Little Megs. A very shy, nervous dog who is growing in confidence every day. For Megs, progress means we are starting to see a glint in her eye and a low tail wag when we go outside instead of wide eyed terror. Her legs sometimes still shake with uncertainty, but we are taking it slow and only doing short outings. Initially, it was 1 or 2 minutes, but now Megs can cope with short walks on her own of about 5 to 10 minutes, depending on whether the location is quiet or a bit busier. She gains confidence from her house mates, also Cavaliers, though thankfully none of them have experienced the same unfortunate background as Megs. It is heart-warming to see Megs now run to the door to greet us excitedly when we arrive home rather than running to hide. A couple of days a week, Megs accompanies her foster carer to work and quietly supervises the goings in from behind the counter. Its a massive ask for a girl with her history, so she gets more days off to recover than any other employer would allow. We are mindful to not overwhelm this sensitive soul because she will revert to being shut down in the blink of an eye, but we are gradually increasing the realm of her world, little by little. As she becomes more accepting and comfortable in more situations, we can expand her world a little more. We are so pleased with her recent progress. http://cavalierrescue.com.au/donate-to-cavalier-rescue/

16.01.2022 WELCOME DAISY **NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE, NO EARLY ENQUIRIES OR APPLICATIONS PLEASE** Please welcome Daisy into care.... Daisy has already been in care for some time as we try to manage some ongoing health issues. As a result of this please note that we wont be taking any applications for her at this time. Daisy had some of the more commonly seen issues upon arrival - infected ears that required anesthetic for removal of the large build up deep down in the ear canal. Irritable anal glands that took several months to settle, dry itchy skin as well as chronic Dry Eye. Veterinary advice is that these health issues are all indicators, or clues of an underlying auto immune issue. Despite dedicated treatment Daisys eye issues have continued to plague this cheeky miss. An ulcer that developed shortly before Easter (see the green dot in pic), appeared to heal with prompt treatment. Unfortunately Daisy is now dealing with another ulcer and following a consult with Dr Kaila of @Veterinaryspecialistservices at Underwood we believe that the ulcer now has the complication of a fungal infection. This requires an aggressive and extended treatment period with some rather expensive medication which is being formulated for us by the Wesley Hospital pharmacy in Brisbane. To date Daisys maintence medications have been around $200 per month, plus regular visits to both @tugunvets and @veterinaryspecialistservices We now have another $380 going out for the compounded eye medication in an effort to try and resolve the fungal infection that is giving this girl so much discomfort. We know many are doing it tough at the moment but if you could spare just a few dollars to help cover some of Daisys treatment costs, what a difference it could make. We are a registered Not For Profit Charity and all donations over $2 are tax deductible. Your support is needed now more than ever http://cavalierrescue.com.au/donate-to-cavalier-rescue/ #cavalierrescueqld #supportrescue #ckcs #fosterdog #antinolau #rescuedogsofinstgram #tugunvets #veterinaryspecialistservices #animaleyeservices

She will go back to Animal Eye Services at Underwood in a fortnight for a recheck. We will keep you all posted #cavalierrescueqld #thankyou #donate #supportrescue #fosterdog #cavaliers #eyesareprecious #animaleyeservices #vss #veterinaryspecialistservices
