24.01.2022 Thank you for constantly reminding me FB that I have not shared anything to my page in a while....I have been occupied with driving the horses around, training them, caring for them and performing the admin, land care, house care that is the reason I need a FB page at all. Not to mention, spending time face to face with friends and loved ones(they are one and the same). Sorry if you feel undervalued FB , but you are lower on my priority list than the above. I hope this post rectified your issue

23.01.2022 Having a quieter than usual weekend doing just this. Recharge before more turbo charged activities.

21.01.2022 London Knights secured a sensational third win of the 2018 season after a knife-edge finish saw Ben Maher with Explosion W and Nicola Philippaerts with H&M Chil...li Willi take the top step of the podium at GCL Chantilly! Take a look at how the action unfolded in our full GCTV Replay right here, right now!

21.01.2022 I have been very fortunate to have had many do just this. Have only deliberately sought to buy a horse twice. Both times it took years. The others just came along.

19.01.2022 Rae Parks Lenny about to get a well earned facelift this week. Champagne! And logos. Took these pics because I need to remember the stories behind all the dings, the ones that I caused anyway

18.01.2022 This is how we roll!.

17.01.2022 Brilliant way for the horsey and non horsey alike to watch jumping

17.01.2022 Road trip slightly NW....great day. Then we went to Currumbin with 3 horses and rode on the beach...still winding down. 16 hours on the road today. 2 hrs in the Pony, PB drove for 6 hrs in his cruiser, swopped to Nessie the awesome truck. 3hrs to Gold Coast and back. Everyone dozed but me. Mou really enjoyed her first surf. Rusty was Rusty, acting only 3 yrs today, after a 5 year old turn yesterday. Toby was excellent with his new fan and the quiet was enjoyed by us all. Thanks for the latte, Macca's, it brought me home to Diane Krall

15.01.2022 Hopefully by the end of this year, which I started thinking in 2013, I can plan an effective training and jumping preparation to suit my calendar. Only 6 yrs... its a very long game.

13.01.2022 Just thanking all the kind folk who have taken the time to like my ramblings. Always feel free to delete or ignore me. Plenty do and it saves us all precious time

12.01.2022 Do not pamper them because you think they need it....It is always for us, the owners, the rugging etc. Mine tell me clearly when they do and do not want a rug....Rusty and Monty, as the elders are the most eloquent

11.01.2022 Be creative with your horses it will inspire their natural curiosity and improve your relationship. Competition is then much more enjoyable as a team.

08.01.2022 A good reason to have dental check ups on your horses regularly.... Ill give you one guess where that lower tooth goes when the horse shuts its mouth .....str...aight in to the pallet of the upper jaw! Ouch! Remember...out of sight is out of mind. Please dont ignore your horses mouth until there is a problem or he cant eat. Photo: Stacy Pipkin See more

07.01.2022 Tip of my month courtesy of Mel Watts and Dr Andrew Watts. If you want to: Spread manure quickly over your paddocks Leave the organic matter on the soil... Attract wild birds.... Put a handful of wild bird seed in your horses feed.

06.01.2022 The best reason to have a horse....friend told me a great quote today. Why are horses so expensive? Because they are worth it! Thank you Matt Wray....that made my day. And the jumping of course.

06.01.2022 My mantra...still a pc girl at heart who loves ponies

04.01.2022 The fascination begins....

03.01.2022 So give life a go, you may get a pleasant surprise

03.01.2022 Most horses pass from one human to another - some horsemen and women are patient and forgiving, others are rigorous and demanding, others are cruel, others are ...ignorant. Horses have to learn how to, at the minimum, walk, trot, canter, gallop, go on trails and maybe jump, to be treated by the vet, all with sense and good manners. Talented Thoroughbreds must learn how to win races, and if they can't do that, they must learn how to negotiate courses and jump over strange obstacles without touching them, or do complicated dance like movements or control cattle or accommodate severely handicapped children and adults in therapy work. Many horses learn all of these things in the course of a single lifetime. Besides this, they learn to understand and fit into the successive social systems of other horses they meet along the way. A horse's life is rather like twenty years in foster care, or in and out of prison, while at the same time changing schools over and over and discovering that not only do the other students already have their own social groups, but that what you learned at the old school hasn't much application at the new one. We do not require as much of any other species, including humans. That horses frequently excel, that they exceed the expectations of their owners and trainers in such circumstances, is as much a testament to their intelligence and adaptability as to their relationship skills or their natural generosity or their inborn nature. That they sometimes manifest the same symptoms as abandoned orphans - distress, strange behaviors, anger, fear - is less surprising than that they usually don't. No one expects a child, or even a dog to develop its intellectual capacities living in a box 23 hours a day and then doing controlled exercises the remaining one. Mammal minds develop through social interaction and stimulation. A horse that seems "stupid", "slow", "stubborn", etc. might just have not gotten the chance to learn! Take care of your horses and treasure them. Written by Jane Smiley Happy Adventurous trails Lisa
